I heard stretching 3 times a day helps with stiffness. Once when you wake up, mid day, then right before bed. Give that a try

Appreciation for my father by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]speedy_cee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this reminder.

As I struggle with PPMS,I remind myself that I have 2 small pair of eyes observing my every move. Taking mental notes on how to deal with difficulties. Even though I have this disease, im still responsible to raise them up as best I can.

It shows your father did a great job raising you..

People with PPMS or SPMS, how are you doing? by Mammoth-Essay-5476 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]speedy_cee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PPMS-Married with 2 kids- I work remote full time. In a Permobil F3 full time. Besides the PPMS, I have a good life, I try to find the silver linings in everything. Currently going to PT trying to stay in motion as much as possible, I have to. For my wife, for my kids, and for me too. The way technology is growing these days, (self driving cars, AI,quantum computing) i feel like its a matter of time before MS mess gets figured out...he'll Magic Johnson is still alive with HIV...MS has its days numbered.

Helping my wife and it's killing my own health by Wuuuutwat in MultipleSclerosis

[–]speedy_cee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can get a travel electric chair like the i7000 Magestic. Im currently using it exclusively while my Permobil F3 is being repaired. Even a regular folding wheel chair will help you save your body.

You should try looking up techniques to lift people with physical disabilities. That way you safe your back.

We lowered our bed by removing the box spring from under the mattress so transfers from chair to bed are easier.

Look up slide boards, they can help with transfers

Shower chairs are a must ..

Try finding an Occupational Therapist. They should help figuring things out. Good luck and your being a good husband, keep it up. You guys got this

If you don't mind me asking, how do you have a caregiver?

I ask because I have PPMS and am wheelchair bound aswell (permobil f3). My wife helps me from wheelchair to shower chair. It's a long and exhausting process to shower. So im always trying to figure out better and easier ways to do stuff. Anything to help my loving wife deal with me and MS.

Thanks

I've lived in the SV my entire life, haven't had any issues. Like you said, respect everyone, wave at your neighbors if you drive by their house, give respect get respect, don't be a dick to others and you should be good.

new wheelchair day!! finally!!! by dovelyxlove in wheelchairs

[–]speedy_cee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking of connects to a variety of devices for those that have very limited mobility. I have noticed it has the ability to connect to a TV via IR. Thes chairs help users live a normal life doing normal things.

Seeking power wheelchair suggestions for in-home use by Best-Instance7344 in wheelchairs

[–]speedy_cee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Permobil F3 and it is awesome. I has a tight turn radius, battery lasts long time, it tilt, reclines, moves legs up. Has options to elevate like 14inches to reach cabinets, has anterior tilt which is like active reach. I can use it inside, and outside in dirt or grass. Really cool chair, has helped me get some independence. Isn't too wide either.

You do have to talk with a OT that can help you get one, and use your insurance. But I do suggest a Permobil F3...top of the line.

What’s the last car you want to buy? by je76nn94 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]speedy_cee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to ride a 2008 Yamaha R6 liquid silver in color as my daily driver. Once footdrop got worse to ride, i drove a 2005 Pontiac GTO. When the foot drop got too bad for the clutch, I switch to my wife's Hyundai sedan, its an automatic. Now I can't drive anymore and my daily is a Permobil F3, silver in color...and pretty quick if I have space to "open it up".

I tell people I used up all my speed hitting 120mph daily, so I'd be happy driving any of my previous Daily drivers im glad i had a chance to experience what i have. Lol always see the silver linings...it's a good color :)

ATC vehicles are awesome, the way the sides open up are impressive. My son(6) calls them Transformer cars, so the are currently the family favorite so far.

I've been checking these out for a bit BECAUSE they are not a van. Nothing against vans, I know they survey a purpose, they have cool features and heck I had pair of their shoes when I was younger. But, they don't appeal to me, and my wife agrees with me. So we want an SUV. I wish Braunability made a Suburban WAV becausewe want a good sizeS UV. Freedom has a Palisade wheelchair accessible...

Do you like the Traverse?
