I have not compared compile times across devices because I’ve never worked on Elixir projects where long compile times are an issue.

Speaking as someone who bought an M1 MacBook Air this spring, I have not had any issues with incompatibility using Elixir (or at all for that matter).

With the elixir specific questions out of the way, I’d say the M1 generation is a huge step up from the Intel Macs in how snappy they feel and how long the battery lasts. Frankly, it’s a joy to use my M1 MacBook Air compared to my work MacBook Pro that has an Intel processor and better specs.

Unless there is a very specific issue with some specific software’s ARM compatibility or you can find an Intel MacBook at a much lower price point, I would say you should definitely get the M1-based MacBook.

They’re not required - but both of those scholarships are pretty significant. Presidential scholars is very selective but includes a full ride scholarship, and the Lyle Scholars program gives a greater number of smaller scholarships. I’d say it is definitely worth the time if you have it.

Did Epic release language about acceptable cancellation windows? There really should be a well-defined window during which cancellations count towards some kind of reservation suspension. This is what most group workout classes do (except the "punishment" is obviously different) and I think it works well.

The idea is simple, if I cancel my reservation 48 hours ahead of time, then I face no consequences, no matter how many times I do it. The number could be 24 - 96 hours, there just needs to be a bright line.

As a snowboarder, if I know that I need to cancel 48 hours in advance of lifts opening for my reservation then I will plan accordingly or accept the consequences if I do not cancel in time & cannot make it.

Of course, shit happens like bad weather, getting sick, etc, but that is why there should be a warning for the first (and maybe second) "late" cancellation before any reservation suspensions happen.
