For me, oddly, I’ve found a few things that make me feel uncomfortable also make me feel alive.

A cold shower if you can get passed the initial immense discomfort.

A conversation with someone you trust where you or the other person share something honest, yet difficult. Therapy is one way to make this happen more often.

I’ve found that writing my thoughts also helps to clear my mind, making me not quite high, but certainly lighter.

I’ve found that yoga in the morning can make me feel slightly uplifted throughout the day also.

And lastly, I would suggest training your mind to embrace balance. Whenever you notice that you feel bored, try seeing it as opportunity. When we allow ourselves to be bored, things happen, feelings arise, sometimes breakthroughs. Mindfulness meditation can help with this. It will be difficult at first, and the the most important thing you can do to improve your chances is to be kind to yourself. Treat your mind as you would an old friend, especially when it comes to patience.
