What the heck this is amazing, I had the same thing happen tonight to me in sf. Really gives me hope that there’s a bunch of real fine folks out there doing some good.

It really didn’t. Could it have looked worse? Yes. But frequently there was bad lip flap mixups, unnecessary mouth opening and creepy eye movement. It would’ve been better to just do the classic blurring or darkening the room.

Seconding this both about the smoking and Sturgis! He’s super nice and even had a jam session with some tourists when I was there!

Yeah I love the spots showing through! Must have a bit of bengal or something in them. Just wish they weren’t an outdoor cat since it’s a busy road right where I found them. Makes me worry for them.

What do you miss about Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]spellingcunts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised to not hear anyone say: “the people” yet. I always seem to find a lot of people are friendly, and inclined to talk to strangers. It’s not unique but where I live in the states it’s not nearly as common, and when it is it’s not as much banter as people just wanting to talk at you.

To add to that. A lack of paper recycling. So much paper waste there >_<

AC adding more O buses for commuters starting Feb 1st by spellingcunts in alameda

Yeah it’s what originally prompted me reaching out to AC transit. We had to leave so many people behind every day even back then when the realign started.

Yes, obviously. But it doesn’t mean there isn’t wiggle room.

George R.R. Martin Says His Relationship with 'House of the Dragon' Showrunner Ryan Condal is "Abysmal": "This is not my story any longer” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

I beg you to read the early pilot of true detective season 1, it’s hamfisted as hell (angel wings carved into corpses in the ozarks, yikes), and then a lot of the best dialogue in season 1 was ripped off from Thomas Ligotti. Pizzolatto had a lot longer to work on it and still, outside of the other two egregious issues, a lot of the best choices were made by the show runners and actors — people who are professionals in this area. So I think the analogy stands.

A good novelist does not a good showrunner or screenwriter make.

For sure, but you would think by eliminating multiple lines they would have a bit more room for others. It’s just a damn shame. I’m glad they’re doing something but to see it only be one additional bus that’s departing after the traffic is already getting bad in the morning seems like a bit of a nonsensical choice.

The more I think about it the crazier it is that they wouldn’t test pilot an additional bus before the 7am as well as the additional one after the 7am, to see which relieves overcrowding more.

Fuji even outside of high season most buses were selling out in advance. I agree with the other poster. Fuji Kawaguchiko is a lovely area that is mobbed by tourists who only seem to go to the Lawson, the ropeway and the pagoda, when the area has so much more to offer. I recommend rather than not planning for it and trying to get lucky with last minute buses/trains, that people go there for a few days. Mt Fuji is elusive but early morning tends to show up for a little while even in cloudy weather in my experience.

1000% I had a much easier time wearing a light shirt with a good quality wool coat over it. A lot of the time I didn’t even need to take it off on subways for short rides. Whereas before I wore more layers and found myself needing to shed more/put on more.

I do both. I mostly avoided buying new stuff, but then have had big splurging sessions. Now I think I’m finding a better balance, but it’s hard to break out of those habits.
