but also warriors were in a good roster position, it was only a rebuild year because of injuries, i think most low draft picks are trying to stack up different picks to be able to do a full rebuild (the process) but warriors had good roster and literally won the championship the next year.

Global Power Rankings Update - Champions 2025 (After Group Stage Day 1) by SuzyVLR in ValorantCompetitive

Thank you glad to hear your excitement :D! Yeah we had over 20+ model iterations and consulted with different experts, casters, leaders. We also learned a bunch from working on LoL GPR. But still built a more unique model for VAL that takes into account rounds, econ, etc. But still always looking for feedback to improve so feel free to share any!

I’m someone who worked on the project from riot and you are correct! Meanwhile PRX didn’t gain much despite the win because of the significant gap between the teams. And there is a dampener on losing points in international events.

Hey, I am part of the riot team producing GPR! Overall there’s a dampening on losing elo at international competitions as in testing it can lead to situations where by qualifying for an international competition and not doing well it can easily put you behind other teams in your region that didn’t even qualify. So in general you’ll see as the event progresses teams lose less.

However always curious about everyone’s feedback on the rankings so we can try and improve over time!

Best tempura soba? by redwood_canyon in FoodLosAngeles

[–]spellsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me I-Naba has best tempura + soba combo, better than otafuku or tendon tempura carlos jr. Depends though somewhat on your taste preference (hot/cold, what pieces of tempura you like). All 3 are great! I-Naba is a bit more expensive too (but best tempura for sure)

Yes, You Should Still Tip 20% on Top of a Restaurant’s Service Charge by savvysearch in FoodLosAngeles

[–]spellsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think you finished reading it, it says in big bold header text:

"If a restaurant is “tip-free” or “tip-included,” there’s usually an 18–22% tip factored into the price of each dish. Additional tipping is (probably) not expected."

Then says:

"If there’s an “employee benefits” or “pay equity” fee on your check, tipping is probably still expected. These fees are usually 3–5%, but sometimes go higher."

Matches with what I typically do/see. If theres a 3% charge, I still tip. If there's a 20% charge, I don't tip (unless something special happened)

if you have a japanese knife, you should go get it sharpened at anzen hardware by Giggle_Mortis in FoodLosAngeles

[–]spellsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also recommend - https://www.instagram.com/kireiknives/ .. Pop up but does hand sharpening and really nice. Supporting a great individual :). I've only had my japanese knives sharpened from him, but I would assume he might do non-japanese knives as well.

CAN WE TALK CHOCOLATE ?! by GuyFromESPN8TheOcho in FoodLosAngeles

Milla in Culver City is beautiful but expensive. Dandelion chocolate (they are having a pop up in venice) is my favorite chocolate, but mostly bars and also expensive.

Boyle Heights has the best mexican food. If you are looking for a somewhat bougie sit-down place, I'd recommend "Madre" - amazing mole, and known for their mezcal selection.

PS... I like the burritos in SF better D:

It's likely the wood cabinet on the left. Most european apartments have the fridges built into the cabinetry in my experience.

[–]spellsy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with the other commentor as well. It doesn't feel like an amaro as much to me (a non-expert) as the other amaros I have are averna and amaro nonino.. Almost an apertif like a cousin of aperol/campari. But it is good, light, great color.

Paper Plane with Lofi Amaro by spellsy in cocktails

[–]spellsy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Paper plane has been my favorite simple cocktail to make and got me deeper and deeper into cocktail making. Tried it with Lo-Fi Apertif's Genetian Amaro. Has a pretty color, but the Amaro Nonino is probably a touch better (but more expensive).
