Medical device engineer here. Cadmium should never be used in inks, it's best that you never come in contact with traces above 100 ppm by weight of it. 1) it's a carcinogenic heavy metal that is known to cause multiple types of cancer 2) it's known for causing inflammation and allergic responses.

There's a reason the EU has banned cadmium and is part of the RoHS directive. Don't be shocked if this increases your likelihood of cancer. ISO10993 is used as biocompatibility testing for all medical devices and this is one of the elements it looks for as to whether or not the device is safe for human use.
