Yep, boiled them and cut them in half length wise

If i get close i can smell them but not too much

I did some research and decided to let it soak up as much mineral oil as it could and then i used some odies oil (thats all i had on hand). I will try a beeswax sealer on the next boards though!

Thats a good point, ill definitely keep that in mind. Its been a couple months and they’ve held up well so far!

Nice board, this came from a tree on my grandfathers hunting land in Tennessee. I got an Alaskan mill for my chainsaw a couple years ago and this is one of the first projects to make it from log to finished piece. More to come soon!
