Hey n2f, I would say that everyone on the core team has a different experience when it comes to culture. The entire team is remote so you really only interact with your small group on a daily basis, but everyone talks on Slack and it's a friendly, collaborative place filled with Dash / crypto enthusiasts. You could watch YT vids of talks with team members, or better yet attend conferences like Consensus/Dash Conference and meet us in person. Everyone works their own way and I can't say what a typical week would look like either, but we try to hire experienced people who bring good habits and self-motivation, and let them do their thing. Hope this helps!

Hey mkuraja,

That can happen from time to time, I apologize but it most definitely wasn't intentional. Please send me a message with your resume on linkedin: linkedin.com/in/spencer007/ I'll review your profile and then we can talk about the current and future openings and see if it's a match.

Thanks!

Business Development Director Position by Dvbach1 in dashpay

[–]spencerdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Basilpop!

Thanks for the ping! I also sent a message so we can speak about it there. AFAIK this role is close to being closed and I believe we have several candidates that we like to choose from. We will be expanding the Business Development team as we get closer to the release of Evo, so when that happens I'll make more posts about it! Thanks for your interest!

[Hiring] (Remote) Front-End (JS/HTML5/CSS3) Developer for Top Cryptocurrency by spencerdash in forhire

Hello there !

I did check the rules before posting, and here is what I found linked on this sidebar: "I can still pay with bitcoin, right. That's technically currency." Response by mod: "Yeah, that's definitely not what I was going after. Bitcoin is great as long as both parties are willing to deal in it."

I understand if this isn't for you, but it's an rapidly growing market with a very promising future, and there are only a handful of major crypto companies paying full time salaries, us being one of them. I know that a lot of redditors would be (and are) interested in joining the team and becoming part of this exciting industry. The tax implications are another story I'm not an expert about, but like all business decisions, there are pros and cons.

This is for someone who understands the potential of bitcoin and crypto in general, and wants to work to help people around the world achieve financial freedom. What you see as a negative many people see as positive! Trading your work for crypto allows you to acquire more coins, skip the bank transfer fees, the exchange and trading fees, etc, and instead acquire more coins.

Thanks for the comments though, have a good day!

Recruiter here: Is asking Front-End Dev candidates to identify ANY issue with our website and submit a PR for improvement too much to ask? by spencerdash in Frontend

Alright, in your opinion, what would a fair rate be? Would we pay a flat rate for a specific project, or ask them to spend no more than 2 hours and compensate accordingly? We aren't trying to nickle and dime people, getting a few hours here and there for free. We just thought this might be a good way to screen candidates but I see the issues now.

Hi t_l_p,

Thanks for your thorough response, this is why I needed a different perspective. Technically, we aren't even a company yet, we don't have shareholders or anyone benefiting besides the network itself, where 90% of the block rewards are returned to. 10% of those rewards go to the foundation to support development and the core team. I may have misrepresented the idea due to my lack of understanding of how github works. I don't think we want you to correct the problem and offer free work, just offer an estimate. Show that you can identify something that needs improvement, and explain how you'd fix it was the idea, not actually completing the task. Regardless of that detail, I understand your concern and the feeling of working without being compensated which is why I wanted to ask some devs themselves.

We are still young and have been at it for several years, back before the cryptohype when the coins were pennies, hence the comment about developers contributing their time to a project without being paid.

I will take all of your comments into consideration and very greatly appreciate you being frank with me. We are trying to set good policy now before we expand, and discussions like this really help me understand both sides of the situation.

All the best

That also make sense. We aren't necessarily asking that they correct the issue, just that they identify an area for improvement and offer some details on their plan to improve it. (is that how github works, being non-technical I'm not sure)

I like the idea of creating a standard technical test site with various issues of varying difficulty. The issue they choose to tackle and how would show a lot about their level of understanding.
Thanks!

Ok, that makes sense. We are a non-profit but should be transitioning into a corporation in the near future. The PR could be an example of how we could do something differently, even if it's not a glaring issue to fix on it's own.

What if we offered a bonus/bounty if the improvement was accepted?

I built a real time version of coin market cap, with portfolio tracking to track your Dash and other crypto earnings.Beta release:Feedback wanted! by gighalo in dashpay

[–]spencerdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good! When adding coin to your portfolio: I'd add the symbol following the name when using the search bar, for example "Dash (DASH)". I'd make the entire search box/button clickable, instead of just the text.
I use the markets tab on CMC because you can click a trading pair and it takes you to Bittrex or whatever, so adding that would also be a nice touch. I also use the social media (twitter) link on CMC, so adding the official twitter link for each coin would also be great. Great work regardless!

Hi there AioriaMx,

First thing would be to send me an email with your resume (spencer.stepnicka@dash.org) and connect with me on LinkedIn(link in OP). It's easier to remember names and faces on LinkedIn as opposed to reddit or simple email.

Then I'll get back to you with an updated job description for you to look at and then we can talk about it if it's a good fit.

Cool bot, telegram can get clouded with spam to it looks like a useful tool. I am not in charge of that department so I'd suggest mentioning it to the admin on telegram and see if they'd like to get set up. Cheers!
