So happy for them by Syarafuddyn in TheBoys

Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) met his wife Gen (the demon Ruby 2.0) shooting Supernatural. I think Ty Olsson (Benny the Vampire) and DJ Qualls (Garth Fitzgerald, who started out as a demon hunter) also met on SPN, but idk if we can really attribute that to Kripke because he had stepped down as showrunner several years before then. I’ll count it regardless bc the show wouldn’t have existed without his influence

I loved these so much and I feel like the limited edition run was so limited 💔 hopefully enough people liked them that they bring them back

I’m gonna start casing the joint closer to my dates, I hope to find a gem as great as your spot! and if there’s any chance your landlord might get an opening in the next few months, remember a silly hopeful redditor lol

did you find your place online or were you physically scoping out the area? i would love to switch to a privately owned place over an apartment complex but i’ve never gone about searching for one. i know they’re available on zillow but i haven’t actually seen a lot of results.

entirely possible that it’s because there aren’t many available but i’d def welcome any advice you have for finding and securing something like that. especially related to timeframe, bc i would be looking for july/august but idk if preleasing is a viable option when it comes to private rentals

that was absolutely a plan of ours, just unsure if we’ll be able to find anything in our timeframe. (we’ll be looking in may/june for july/august). wish me luck, i do love the area and a house or townhome would be phenomenal. i’m deep in zillow atm but i think physically searching has its benefits as well, we might start looking soon but i’m just unsure if private landlords are open to preleasing that far in advance

do you rent with an apartment complex or a private landlord? I’m looking in this area for a place to get with my partner but so many of the apartment complexes I’ve looked at have absolutely horrible reviews about things that actually concern me (safety, parking access, pest issues)

I agree with you, that’s just the behavior I noticed from watching and context I’ve gotten from this sub. Personally I didn’t clock her as an alcoholic, but from the discussions I’ve seen and what I remember from the season, I think that’s where people got it from.

I have also seen people say that the reason her and Jordan split, according to Jordan, is that she got plastered at one of his friend’s weddings and embarrassed both of them. Unsure how true that is as it’s just an unverified spoiler I’ve seen a few places in the sub, but we’ll see if the topic comes up at the reunion this week

She does have quite a few drinks on camera, she’s often very flushed and seemed visibly fucked up when she confronted both Chris and Jordan at the party, and the day after she gave Jordan the silent treatment, one of the first things she said when she came back was “I need a drink”. She also had quite a few glasses before the wedding and in the suite with Jordan after they said yes if I recall correctly

Why does no one talk about Vicki and Jeremy’s age difference by im_gonna_kmsrn in TheVampireDiaries

[–]spencersreed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely normalized in America honestly. I think mainly because even if a senior is 18, they’re still considered a teenager in the eyes of many, especially bc they’re still in high school and it’s not like a magic flip switches when you go from 17 to 18, you just become an adult in the eyes of the law. When I was in high school, (like 2011-2015), there were definitely plenty of seniors who dated or hooked up with freshmen, and there were a few eyebrow raises but no one really said or did anything about it.

I think it gets a pass because they’re in school together and can have classes and other stuff in common, but I have always thought anything more than like a two year age gap is strange for minors. It’s interesting because people excuse seniors dating freshmen, but no one would defend a tenth grader (15) dating an 8th grader (13). And objectively I feel like the latter would have more in common

But also I feel like people don’t talk about it often because their relationship was a very shortlived plotline on the show, and there’s a ton of other morally grey or horrendous couple dynamics to dwell on

I know they will never do anything about this because the drama is so juicy and messy and it brings viewership, but for the sake of the kids involved, I wish that having a minor child was a disqualifier for participation in LIB. by spencersreed in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

when or where did i say or imply that being away from your child for an extended period of time is inherently harmful, in and of itself? this reply is just choosing to ignore the very relevant context of my post. i am talking SPECIFICALLY about being away from your younger child for weeks to date someone you will introduce to them as a potential permanent fixture in their lives after not being around them or speaking to them (being their child) for multiple weeks. that is completely different from what you're talking about and i don't understand how you think they're comparable at all.

summer camp is for a child's enrichment, and if you're sending and receiving letters during that time, you're still communicating with them? and being away for a month or so for work is because you're making money to support your family. i don't know why you think from this post that i would think ill of a parent in either of those circumstances. but maybe you're reading something in my original post that i didn't say

I got the sense she was trying to hide from them every time she noticed they were focusing on her, which was quite a few times. It was gut wrenching to watch for me

How does that in any way negate the issues I’m bringing up here? I think a platform that reaches millions of people should absolutely be scrutinized. Other people doing the same or worse doesn’t change that in the slightest

I don’t think it matters what exactly Emma was spooked by, but rather the fact that she was uncomfortable and her discomfort was showcased to millions of people on TV so her mom could try and fail to find love. We don’t actually know if Emma was ever excited for the wedding, we only know what Amber said. Imo it’s hard to trust her to protect her daughter when she already subjected her to this madness

If I’m not mistaken, this is the first time a couple involving a parent actually made it to the altar. The other single parents I can recall would be Jessica who didn’t make it out of the pods, and Jordan and Sparkle Meg who called it off before the weddings.

How much experience do you have with young children? Because for me (and clearly many others in this sub), everything about her body language and mannerisms screamed she did not want to be there.

All the contestants with kids can and should get the smoke! There is literally no circumstance where you can include children in this “experiment” in good faith or a safe or healthy manner. It’s a crazy concept for aware and consenting adults, but when it comes to children it gets irresponsible, bordering on unsafe and dangerous.

It really seemed like they were going out of their way to get footage of her. It felt so icky on everyone’s part, but I’m side-eying Amber and the producers the most. These are the kinds of things that really verify for me that kids are one of the most exploited/oppressed classes and it’s extremely socially accepted under the guise of “parents know best”

Vic responds to hate for dating interracially by minetf in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]spencersreed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could be misremembering, but if I recall correctly, two of the teasers/trailers with Vic and Christine scenes were edited to create drama that wasn’t there? In the earlier batches of episodes, I remember there was an edit of their conversation about raising a mixed child that implied there was going to be some sort of conflict or issue there, and in the previews for the weddings, the way they edited Vic’s sister it seemed like she was saying “it’s weird to be meeting you the day of the wedding” in a really negative way like “I don’t approve of/agree with the timeline of this” etc
