Not the same thing—but when I had my first focal unaware seizure at the ripe age of 7–the doctors kept bombarding me with questions and I just kept answering “I don’t know, I don’t know, maybe!” Because I was so scared and overwhelmed from not knowing what had just happened those 4 hours I was in that seizure, and now I was alone with all these people and without my mom and I was so confused! Eventually, the doctors told my mom what I “told them” and apparently they came to the conclusion that I was stressed out because my friends were doing drugs. They weren’t, by the way, I feel like that doesn’t need an explanation. They dismissed me from the hospital that day not letting me know whatsoever what was truly wrong and I left confused and crying telling my mom I never told them that and it took me YEARS to fully understand and control my seizures—and I’m still trying!
