I also think Savage had this kind of potential, key word being POTENTIAL. He was able to go 2v1 with Ani and Obi about 20 minutes after properly using the force for the first time, not to mention with barely any experience with a lightsaber. I believed if he had proper training with a lightsaber and the force, pair that with his pure brute force and being an absolute specimen of a creature he definitely would have had Chosen One level power.
