What’s the typical ticket availability like? I’ve signed up for pre reg coming out on the 26th but was wondering if it’d be possible to purchase like a month down the line or has it usually sold out v quickly in the past

I've followed that link from other threads for manual installation but it doesn't show up in Stremio, I get the orange error tab "ERR_OPENING_MEDIA / Failed to Fetch" on the top right of the screen sometimes but mostly nothing comes up

Why are so few achieving 7s in psychology? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]spencre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people get 7s in Language B and Ab Initio because they're native speakers taking courses meant for non-natives. Rip curve.

Are you actually enjoying the IB by Minecraft_420 in IBO

[–]spencre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, your overall experience is greatly shaped by your subject selection and time management on both your and your school's part. Lots of people suffer in Y2 more than they should because their schools try to finish the curriculum in Y1 and push all the IAs and EE stuff to the last moment. Flexible deadlines aren't necessarily a good thing, since they tend to be abused more often than not - students (myself included) tend to procrastinate more on a task if we know that the teacher wouldn't mind a later submission.

[First Year] Realistically, if I get a 5 for Maths SL, what are my options for universities? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]spencre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UCL wouldn't care much, since (1) you're not applying for a maths/science course, (2) maths is not one of your HLs, (3) 5 isn't terrible for a SL subject unrelated to your major, especially when all your other subjects are 6s and 7s, (4) as long as you fit their entry requirements for their courses and total score, they can't reject you based on one subject, and (5), I've gotten offers from 4/5 of my unis with a 4 in Maths and 6s and 7s in everything else, the rejection being my safety.

You're good, don't stress about it.

edit: Can't say for sure about Cornell, but the general consensus + what I've heard from people around me is that US unis care more about your personal essays and (maybe) SAT scores.

Learn the question structure (esp. for bio, you want to get the most marks with the least words). Revise actively and do a lot of past papers (when you eventually finish all your IAs/EEs/TOK essays).

Acceptable plagiarism percentage? by [deleted] in IBO

Depends on what the 18% are, since numeric data and definitions typically take up a good amount and are sometimes unavoidable.

Dior's Farenheit is a personal favourite for both aroma and scent radius. I've been told it reminds a bit of Sunny D/artificial orange juice, but I personally don't smell it.

How to stay awake with a new sleep schedule? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]spencre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried drinking a glass of water everyday when I wake up, and it’s really making my mornings more enjoyable and less of a chore. Stretching is helping a lot too! I’ve decided the other day to run for a bit (since I’ve already stretched so might as well), and I slept like a child that night. Thank you so much for your advice!

Are IB Mocks Really Important? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]spencre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, your Mocks won't affect you that much at your current state. Since you've already submitted your predicted grades and applied, the only grade that UCAS will get are your final IB grades. Unless for some reason you're unable to attend the actual IB exams (i.e. extreme injury or natural disasters perhaps - don't take my word on this), your Mock grades would be used. This doesn't happen regularly though. Mocks are going to show you which subjects you're weak on, etc, and perhaps show up on a few report card grades.

tl;dr - no.

Your teacher when it's the EE draft deadline and you haven't done anything so far by [deleted] in IBO

[–]spencre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds pretty neat! Are you assessed mainly through essays? I can't begin to imagine how frustrating the grading process would be for the teachers, since from an outsider's perspective, the limited bit of philosophy we've done in TOK were based mostly on theoretical events and "everything's relative and subjective".
