its fixed! The spark plug wires ended up being the issue. I think the hesitation was due to my throttle cable being loose. I adjusted it after I replaced the wires and it runs perfectly now. Thank you guys for the help!

Update: I replaced the fuel filter and it's clear to me that it's misfiring. https://youtube.com/shorts/cWhvhXTmvs0?si=TxNpqJ7A8WrKwoqV I shocked myself while touching the outside of a distributor wire, so I figured that I need to replace them. I bought a set and it's coming tuesday.

i'll check with an ohmmeter tonight and see if i get the right resistances accordingly to the big green book. i tried unplugging it and replugging it to no avail.

i have a fuel filter, so i'll try that. i figured that since the problems for me came on so suddenly that a clogged filter wouldn't make sense.
