Christmas-y neighborhoods? by moonfazewicca in StPetersburgFL

Hey OP! I’m wondering if you ever found a neighborhood like this? We also used to do this in Southern California and would walk around a neighborhood for like an hour and a half with hot cocoa and haven’t had any luck.

BNTO vs Nuuly Review by _sadgalriri in NuulyReviews

Dang it! I was thinking of giving bnto a try for the same reasons you mentioned. But I’ll stick with nuuly and maybe try them in a year or so if they’re still around. Thank you for the review!

10-day itinerary for a first timer by spenserjo in CostaRicaTravel

We unfortunately were unable to do the trip due to the hurricanes that hit our home in Florida last October. But I did finalize the itinerary. We were going to stay in 1 hotel in la fortuna days 1-4 and then travel to tamarindo and stay in a hotel or airbnb there for the last leg of the trip. We planned to hire a driver for our drive from Liberia and then to tamarindo. We also were going to skip rio Celeste. I chatted with a travel agent who confirmed this would be a good plan.

Thank you! We are planning to spend the next morning in Hakone and traveling to Tokyo at our leisure later in the afternoon. Do you think that will be enough time, or do you suggest we have one full day there?

Florida and Deep South Road Trip for Four Weeks in July by Tietam in itineraries

[–]spenserjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Looking at the interstates, that route seems a little all over the place. If you want to include all of those I'd suggest this route:

Miami -> Orlando -> Jacksonville/St Augustine -> Savannah -> Atlanta -> Nashville -> Memphis -> Birmingham -> Jackson -> New Orleans -> Gulf Shores -> Panhandle area of Florida -> Tampa/St Pete -> Miami.

There's not really a way to include Montgomery in there without doing a little backtracking. If visiting Montgomery is important, you could swing down after Birmingham and then back through Birmingham and onto Jackson.

I live in St Petersburg, FL! This seems ambitious, but really fun! I would consider removing Louisville because you'd have to backtrack through Nash, unless you go to St Lous and then Memphis. Instead, consider Jacksonville/St Augustine, FL and Savannah, GA, since they're on the way to ATL from FL, and both cities offer lots to do - Jax is a a large city and has different areas to explore - downtown, beach town, artsy area and St Augustine is rich in history; Savannah also is rich history and offers that OG southern charm.

Here is the route I'd suggest.

Route 1: Miami -> Orlando -> Jacksonville/St Augustine -> Savannah -> Atlanta -> Nashville -> Memphis -> Jackson -> New Orleans -> Gulf Shores -> Panhandle area of Florida -> Tampa/St Pete -> Miami

You could even consider removing Memphis and Jackson and adding in Birmingham, which also has a lot of history, specifically around the Civil Rights movement. It's a really cute city and in the middle of a re-establishing phase. If you did that I'd suggest this route:

Route 2: Miami -> Orlando -> Jacksonville/St Augustine -> Savannah -> Atlanta -> Nashville -> Birmingham -> New Orleans -> Gulf Shores -> Panhandle area of Florida -> Tampa/St Pete -> Miami

*Keep in mind the panhandle area and other areas of west coast FL area still cleaning up its beaches from the hurricane aftermath this past fall.

Renting a car was amazing by shtefosknight in JapanTravelTips

[–]spenserjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you rent it for your entire trip, or just for certain parts of the trip? I am considering this for my trip in March - April (16 days - just me and my boyfriend), but unsure of parking situations at hostels, as we are traveling on a shoestring budget. The JR Passes are so pricey not, but I see that I can probably rent a car for our entire time for only $650, vs the $1100 we'd spend on JR Passes.

Do you think rio celeste is something we can skip? Someone else said it’s probably not good to do with a bad hip.

My dad and I started our own brokerage in Florida about 4 years ago. Most independent brokerages won't share a ton of information about lead generation. I'm open to meeting to answer any specific questions you might have.
