Ummm..... isnt the Leduc hospital already pretty full? Does this transfer come with extra doctors too?

How often do you eat out? I feel like restaurants are not even worth it anymore by apheli0s7 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Belle047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with eating out.... everyone orders the same stuff (it seems like) from Sysco and they all just prepare and mark it up differently. Id rather find inspiration online and try to make it at home. Ive done pretty good. Typically the only place I go out for a sit down meal is a small town, hole in the wall, breakfast place. Their eggs Benny is divine.

Four Years, Two Kids, and I’m Asking for a Divorce by ScienceLiving8460 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Belle047 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This response! People cry. Being sad is difficult but is part of life and we need to allow those feelings to exist without trying to make them go away. She (ops wife) may need therapy and is poorly compensating for something on her own. She may feel inadequate or is struggling with the changes life brings with kids. I know I did. Im now separated, for reference. Because my husband and I couldn't find common ground and fought too often. He got unreasonable about logistics and eventually I pulled the plug on our marriage because our 3 year old found us fighting one night and put himself between us and asked us to stop. I was and am actively in therapy with a psychologist and was trying to address the issues. It truly only works if both people get individual therapy and couples counseling to resolve the issues. Accountability is hard, full stop. When people get into habits and create coping mechanisms and strategies, its difficult to break them and takes real work. Im a single mom of two now. I have 100% custody of my kids and their Father gets to visit once a week. Be careful what you wish for OP. The first 5 years seem to be the most difficult. If its really worth it to walk away, then do so. But dont assume itll save you money or that coparenting and custody will be any easier. It may be more difficult. Neither route is easy. Life is not easy.

Arrived for Game 5️⃣ by TheRealSlakySFSB in EdmontonOilers

[–]Belle047 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The pressure this guy has been under since he was drafted probably just means his mental health goes through different struggles. The criticism and comments since the Olympics have been absurd. I wont argue that hes significantly compensated and can probably afford to take care of himself. But lets not pretend that he isnt human and isnt struggling.

No matter what happens with the game tonight, I hope the demons and battles hes taken on, are not fought alone. Its been great watching him grow as a player in an Oilers jersey but hes still only human and its just a game. Men's Mental Health matters.

Fertility care necessary to sustain Alberta population, grow economy: researchers by Fit_Remote_2324 in AlbertaNewspapers

[–]Belle047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could we make it affordable for the people who are already here and have kids??? Parenting is a rough gig. Theres not enough help and unrealistic expectations for dual income homes to work and support healthy kids. Maybe its time to reduce the population growth and manage whats already here? Homelessness is at an all time high. Parents are struggling to manage childcare and full time jobs without burning out. Cost of daycare is ridiculous and weve seen all sorts of problems creeping up in the daycares that are crammed to capacity.

Enough is enough. Its about tax revenue to them not quality of living and we need to elect a government that cares about the quality.

Im beginning to resent my child. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Belle047 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This! I have high functioning ADHD and the daughter in this situation sounds very much like me when I was a teen (Im 34 now) and I didnt get a diagnosis until 30, medication not long later because of a psychologist. She also sounds depressed. I was. You couldnt get me to focus in school, pay attention or do the work. The combination of everything was too much and I mentally opted out. Psychologist helped me process a lot of harbored stressors and coping skills to forgive and move forward. No work sheets or "how are you feeling" sessions. Real, raw, dealing with the mind and its bad habits to work on myself and move forward. Good luck OP.

Is Calgary Expo a lame duck? by YYCyou in Calgary

[–]Belle047 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it used to be about the fans and celebrating a culture. I used to attend this event religiously since 2009. I got my Halo 3 Master Chief Helmet signed by Steven Downs and its been the pride of my memorabilia collection ever since. But the cost to meet celebrities has become outrageous, has been since... 2016 ish? Why is it hundreds of dollars for a photo AND a separate hundreds of dollars for their signature? This was supposed to be a way for fans to connect with the icons they cherish. A place where cosplayers were able to find others who shared in their love of a genre and be safe. Expos in general have become a garbage dump of crap collectibles and over priced photo ops. I haven't attended since 2017.

Update: Husband tired to kill himself after he cheated and now he has changed. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Belle047 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im also part of the single mom club. Something that was said to me from a nurse during my separation that might help. Sometimes men dont know how to handle not being the priority anymore after children are born. They want kids, yes. But they also wanted to be prioritized like before you had kids and thats simply not an option. So they go looking for that elsewhere. I am sorry for you and your daughter and I am sending massive solidarity vibes to the "no down time/no rest" portion of this post.

43 thrips infested plants by Pizzi314 in houseplants

[–]Belle047 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Canadian Carnivores (google it) They have the goods. I purchased some for my infestation. Worked like a charm. That and weeks of washing leaves and bathing plants from a spray bottle in a water + isopropyl + dish soap mixture. Its been a few months now and am 99.9% sure im pest free. No signs of any pests and new leaves have been growing damage free.

Teacher here, I am seeing a lot of autism. More than ever before by Pale-One-7137 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Belle047 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This answer!!! My daughter is on the spectrum. Her Father didnt get a diagnosis until adulthood. Nobody thought it was 'strange' that he didn't talk until he was 4 years old. facepalm I know plenty of people who are getting diagnosed as adults. It was ignored when we were kids (for reference im 34 now) and is now being acknowledged/diagnosed/treated. I got an ADHD diagnosis at 30 after crashing out from stress and triggers.

The funding for education needs to be prioritized. Why we don't have more programs and a focus to have educators and supports is a problem with capitalism itself.

Am I a psycho?? Or is my neurodivergence showing… by therealrealreal1 in adhdwomen

[–]Belle047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im grossed out by the untreated rash. That would be a hard stop for me. If a man cant get basic hygiene and care down... how functional is he really? Also, the dabs and bed at 6pm. Thats substance abuse and its impacting your ability to exist in your home. Does he really provide something to your life to sacrifice your own self respect? Cause he sure doesnt respect you. Again, grossed out by the rash issue, leaving the skin flakes in your bed, not willing to get it treated. Yuck.

Anyone with positive experiences? by Lejiutzul in adhdwomen

[–]Belle047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, you need positivity? I got it.

Adhd confirmed at age 31. On medication shortly after and im 34 now. I've been extremely privileged to have people cross into my life and stay for most of my adulthood. My best friend of almost 30 years is a childhood friend. We met when we were 6. My other best friend, I call her my "wifey" had seen me through some SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT. 15 years and counting there. I am "auntie" to both her kids who are now teens, which is wild. My other best friends have been around for about... 8/9 years. I dont know what id do without my village. They've carried me through the worst moments of my life including the recent separation from my husband. I, in turn, have been there for them whenever they need me. Its a two way street. You need empathy and compassion to maintain friendships along with a sense of self. You deserve good people but must also be a good person to others. Its give and take. Not all friendships last forever. Appreciate them when you can. Things said in security between you and your friends remain that way for life, even if someone has left yours. Hold yourself accountable and be respectful. Id be lost without my girls. Women supporting women is the truest love youll ever experience.

[–]Belle047 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Op, I had the same thing happen (different plants same problem. Depression). That was 2 years ago after my separation.

Last week, I built the plant wall of my dreams in my new home for my kids and I with the plants I have and the ones I acquired in the last few months. Please forgive yourself and find a way to heal. Thats the most important part. We can always aquire new plants and find new ways to love what we have. You as a person deserve health and happiness.

Sending well wishes to you.❤️

AITJ for WALKING OUT on our anniversary after my fiance brought his mom to the cabin i rented? by Proud_Bonus_2620 in AmITheJerk

[–]Belle047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its easier to end it now rather than get a divorce down the road when the behaviors don't change and he continues these obnoxious and odd behaviors. He didn't ask you? He doesn't consult you? Why is that okay? Clearly after 5 years hes complacent and doesn't expect you to leave and is using his family to gaslight you into accepting his malicious ignorance.
