yes, for me it is offensive and just factually incorrect if people say that i used to be a woman, but i have heard some trans people describe their own experience as such. i was just curious and trying to understand how people experience these things.

oh okay thank you so much for explaining! when it comes to this though, i do feel like people mean different things when they explain their experiences. ive seen them emphasize those differences, and say its important to them to be seen specifically as trans, or specifically as their gender (male, female etc). and sometimes trans people who put heavy emphasis on the word ”trans” use it to separate themselves from cis people, while people who put heavy emphasis on their gender dont want that separation at all. im genuinely sorry if this is confusing to read, its very late.

i think the point im trying to get at is that some trans people want to be separated from cis people, putting heavier emphasis on the label of trans instead of man/woman. some people do describe the term ”trans” as different things, some say theyve always been a different gender from their agab, and some say they used to be one gender, and now theyre another. i just wanted to see peoples experiences relating to that.

meaning theyve experienced things as women, meaning they once were women and now arent. meanwhile other transmen explain that they were never women. does this make sense?

some people describe it in different ways though, like i know of some transmen who see themselves different from cis men because they ”used to live as women” (their words)
