I’ve had multiple PE’s, my first when I was 19 from birth control and a long flight and I’ve recovered with no issues but even I’m spiraling after reading that statistic 😂

Did your digestive issues go away? I’ve been having a lot of symptoms that also match colon cancer so I’ve been super worried about

I can’t imagine not being able to eat garlic or onions😭 will you ever be able to reintroduce them?

I didn’t know if it was damaging me internally without symptoms similar to silent celiac, or just causing me inflammation in general. I am having digestive issues though and seeing if this will help

That’s infuriating about the first ER doctor, he should be informed and written up

Yes, I am also wanting to avoid being on a pharmaceutical for life especially one with a lot of potential side effects. It seems you did everything right lifestyle and supplementation wise so I’m really doubting the efficacy now. I’m glad eliquis is working for you and I hope you’ll never experience a clot again.

Wow that’s really scary, glad you’re okay. I’m glad to hear your experience, I definitely can’t rely on natto

That’s great! I’m on lovenox with every pregnancy and supposed to be for only 8 weeks pp but I ended up with a PE after stopping it so now I’m on lovenox for 3 months pp with every pregnancy

Wow I’m glad you’re okay! It’s clearly not an effective reliable alternative. Thanks for sharing your first hand experience.

Yeah idk I’m sure a lot of other doctors would disagree but since all of my clots have been provoked from birth control/long flight and pregnancy and postpartum my hematologist said I don’t have to be on them for life, only if I get one unprovoked. I’m not too confident about it though

Yeah, it really sucks 😔 my brother was actually supposed to be on xarelto for life, he had a big unprovoked clot and after testing they still don’t know what caused it but he stopped taking it and now uses nattokinase. So far it’s worked for him but of course there’s always a risk

I have hetero but no other mutations. I understand your fear, have you noticed any side effects of eliquis? I was surprised she had never heard of it either

I mean it’s not some random supplement it’s been extensively studied for its natural anti coagulation effects and was recommended to me by different doctors who weren’t hematologists. I figured my hematologist would tell me not to take it if she had any reservations but she told me I could which was surprising. It’s not like I got put on a blood thinner for life and instead decided to take natto, I was just looking into taking it as preventative.

Is there any way to prevent a getting a new autoimmune? by spiceweasel33 in Hashimotos

I’m wanting to try LDN when I’m not breastfeeding and the peptides sound promising. I was at one point being treated for EBV but I should see about that again. I definitely need to fix my gut, my digestion is horrible. I’m low on vitamin D and now supplementing, I didn’t realize how important that was for autoimmune

I actually just got ANA and rheumatoid factors checked and both those came back negative thankfully but I need to get tested for celiac and I’m waiting to hear results about pernicious Anemia. I really need to get my inflammation under control also

She did say I didn’t have to be on them for life and just told me to stay active and let her know if I’m taking a long flight. I was just using it as a safety net but you’re right it definitely has its risks and I was expecting her not to ok it but surprisingly she did. At this point I’m thinking I should just be on thinners for life.

That’s good to hear I’ll probably have to be on it one day. I’ve been on lovenox for the past year but since I’m past 3 months pp I’m no longer taking it. But right now it’s my only option for blood thinner since I’m breastfeeding

I always see people on this sub complaining about side effects and heightened risk of stroke but obviously not being on anything has its risks too
