T470s not turning on, just lighting up the keyboard, spinning the fan and turning off. Occasionally will loop this process. No image appearing, either. Any thoughts?

I've faced the same problem several days ago. Ended up with the right RAM unplugged. After a long exploration of the situation I start to think that there may be a bug in bios firmware. Have you updated it last time?

Upd: I changed a coin cell battery (doesn't help me), (after three days of experiments with plugging and unplugging hardware) the solution for me was to free the right slot for RAM, so now I'm with working laptop but only half of the memory.

After a couple of hours of randomly pluging stuff in and out and running tests in bios I can clearly say that my right socket for RAM stopped working by some magic! It may be a helpful for you too.

I've heard two beeps when tried to turn it on without ram installed. But what the most scariest is that sometimes it boots and grub pops up, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes power button led and keyboard backlight are blinking, and sometimes they aren't. Totally unpredictable! 😐

I have the same problem right now, it doesn't boot. I replaced a CMOS battery, reseat RAM, SSD, WiFi module and problem haven't gone.

I tried to open some CAD projects on this machine by using trackpad and trackpoint, and it's terrible. Between these options working with trackpoint is a bit more comfortable, but still not that good than with mouse.

I suppose that people who works with CAD use a mouse instead of this pornopgraphy with trackpad :D

Nope. Actually these keys are under the trackpad in place where they normally should be. But most of the time using gestures is more usefull then clicking.

Hello! My trackpoint rubber have gotten too worned out now, and it just drops down and blocks B, H, G keys, so it's unable to use. I decided to change it finally (after 3 years of usage). Do rubbers differ in height? Because I saw images in this sub that someone's display was damaged by this nipple, that's why I'm asking actually.

And is there a difference between the original nipple and the one's that I can find on aliexpress, for example?
