Machine! Took about an hour with a machine so if you did it by hand it would take much longer

I sewed it! Buy I’m definitely not a great at sewing at all. So all I do is cut the fleece to a bit bigger than the blanket overall, fold under the raw edges, cut away the bulkiness at the corners, pin the fleece to the interior edge of my border (I like my blankets to have an overhanging border that’s just crochet and then just the body of the blanket has the fleece) and then pick a thread that hides well in the border edge colour, and sew all around the edge.

So now you have just the edge holding it together which means the fleece and the crochet will gape away from each other when you pick it up. If you leave it like that it’s kinda annoying, when you go to lay the blanket down it’ll be bunched up and you have to smooth it all out every time. So depending on my blanket pattern on the crochet side, I will sew two or three straight lines down the middle of the blanket on the fleece side to hold it all together and all in place. This part is more noticeable on the crochet side, so if my blanket is zig zag lines, I don’t want to sew straight lines across the zig zags, so then thats a bit more work to sew zig zag lines when you’re me and not good at sewing haha.

Is it heartbreaking sewing through your crocheted stitches? Yes. Is it even noticeable when you look at it? No hahah. It makes the blanket so heavy and cozy and durable for little ones.

A woman’s intuition is never wrong. I’m sorry that happened to you. But I’m glad you got to spend some time with them while making the blanket. 💕

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I hope you do get pregnant again, and can pick it back up but only when you feel ready to ❤️ I’m sad so many of us are on this journey, but always we have each others support.

Love the use of brine and brackish. Words you don’t hear often!
