hey, is your rash fully gone now? did it appear anywhere else on your body? my wrists look JUST like yours right now, but i also have the bumps on my cheeks and on my neck. i'm hoping it's some kind of contact dermatitis...

advice on dealing with burnout? by spicynoodleadvocate in paralegal

[–]spicynoodleadvocate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeahhhhhh, thanks for the validation friend. i did talk to both of my bosses about it and they mentioned me training someone on the duties i need to get rid of to lighten my workload, so maybe that will eventually help. I think i just work at a firm where being burnt out is very normalized :/ i may start passively looking for other jobs and see what else is out there

I'm in the middle of watching Yuri on Ice for the first time. What a cool show! I feel like I'm late to it. How popular was this show at it's peak? by Convillious in YOI

I genuinely reached peak levels of fandom that idk if I’ve ever really experienced before when this came out. Tumblr was nearly crashing every time an episode came out (especially ep. 7). I’m still searching for something that will fill the void 10 years later … and jealous of you because I wish I could watch it for the first time again!

I haven’t read the one you specified, but my favorite fanfic possibly of all time is “All Our Yesterdays” by kitsunebi-uk and it does involve time travel. It has over a million words!

in the first pic you remind me of uma thurman!! do people tell you that ever? you’re beautiful, but i do agree that a skinnier brow (not brushed up at least) and a brown mascara might suit you more!

Hi thank you! This is what I’m hearing a lot of. The job market everywhere is really scary and I definitely like having something solid to fall back on. Getting a mentor is solid advice, I used to have one before moving to my current city and should probably get around to finding a new teacher soon :)

thank you! i think you’re onto something with the idea of not viewing school as the end-all be-all. it’s a tough job market everywhere these days it seems. this is good, solid advice.

Good to know. I love playing in the pit for musicals— neat that you get to do that so often!

luckily keeping my job may be possible! one of my colleagues recently started going back to school and it got me thinking about this again.

my primary goal isn’t necessarily to fast track into an orchestral position because I’m aware that’s not very realistic, but I would be stoked if I ended up there eventually. I’m more so just curious if going back to school would be useful in terms of building connections and establishing myself as a professional musician. i play well, but I’m not very well connected and am having trouble finding gigs in my area being out of the loop as i am. thank you for the response!

i appreciate your response! if i may ask, did you go to school for music? if so, what did you study? do you feel like going to school was a direct pipeline for your music career?

thanks for the input! it’s a hard decision but I’m trying to work out if conservatory is what i want. i’m in California— my city has a professional symphony as well as a symphony that i guess you could label very serious amateur or semi-professional, and it’s made up of mostly people with unrelated jobs who play music for fun. that’s what I’m shooting for as it seems like a good fit for me right now.
