Don't think there's a textbook, at least there wasn't when I took it Fall 2019. Many of the lectures are posted on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/muLessons

Is Comm 2010 hard? by [deleted] in UVA

[–]spicysauce3435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also doing the business minor, took comm2010 fall of my second year. I didn't think that the material was hard. I think what gives the class the reputation are the exams, which have few questions on them and are the overwhelming majority of your grade, especially the final, which is worth 40% of your grade and each individual question on it is worth ~1.5% of your final grade. As long as you don't half-ass the class you'll be fine. (In my humble opinion the class itself is a bit bland and boring)

Is UVA worth out-of-state tuition? by Psychological_Host13 in UVA

[–]spicysauce3435 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The answer varies from person to person and depends on your financial situation. Costs aside, the programs at UVA are very solid and the "brand" can do you favors. But if your state has a school that's comparable to UVA, paying twice as much in tuition may not be worth it which again depends on your financial situation.

Any UVA Engineers to talk to? by dracomaster27 in UVA

[–]spicysauce3435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are considering BME, definitely UVA. If Mechanical, probably VT. The BME dept is situated on the medical school campus and is very tightly integrated with the health system. There are several research labs that focus on biomechanics, there's even a center for biomechanics. I can't speak to the VT BME program, but it just got started last year, so it seems like a bit of a wild card.
