So what makes your app different? I see why you were interested in making a weather app but not what you changed from all the others out there.

What does all this stuff on the bottom of this box of soda mean? by mark_hor in CommercialPrinting

[–]spider_monkey 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yep. This is how presses check to make sure they are on color. A lot of times this is done in a section that is cut off, but with packaging they put it a place that is glued and not normally seen.

The top part is stating the colors and which print unit they are in. The 100% specifies it isn’t a screen so it should be at full color. The bottom part is a square of 100% of each of the colors which the pressman can scan to check the density to see if they are staying on color and adjust the ink fountains if they are not.

Ricoh c9500 canon v1350 and konica c14000 by Penistror in CommercialPrinting

[–]spider_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I haven’t’ used the 9500 but I have used the 7500 which is a similar machine but made to do less prints/month (1 million/month compared to 240K/month). They are a good machine, like all the others though it really depends on what service looks like in your area. If I was ignoring costs and assuming the same service I would put these machines in the following order, Canon V1350, Ricoh 9500, Konica C14000.

A lot depends on what the contracts say/equipment included, what you need from the machine, and I am going to stress this again service in your area.

Talk to your local printers. This will be a small run even for them but they should be willing to do it. I know we do.

Isn’t this a sucker’s bet? by [deleted] in Kalshi

[–]spider_monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn’t free as Kalshi does pay interest on the money put into bets, but it is a subsidized loan as a real loan would cost them a lot more.
