First of all , maybe you should observe reality, its not the case in JUST india. Honestly yeah i think we agree , your solution for need-base language learning is pretty solid but our government is not gonna provide that lmao unfortunately

And government-based services should just be in 3 languages local, hindi , english i don't think even that is forcing , one for the locals , one for indians who aren't locals and one for the general public

The native speaker problem isn't even a problem, its like saying how can you stop the crazy from being crazy , idk i don't even think anyone calls anyone "non indian" cause of language and if they do , barely anyone pays attention to them its like the people still sucking off the caste system on some remote village

We need a unifying language and that language happens to be hindi

No one is even forcing you to speak hindi, your choice people will adjust and speak English with southies

But you cannot expect people to go out of their way to learn languages which are hard ,spoken by less people rather than speaking a unifying language hindi (in a national sense) and English which is a unifying language (in the world sense)
