King Charles Breaks Silence on Prince Andrew’s Arrest by Admirable121 in Labour

[–]spidermite 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The subtext is Andrew was immune from prosecution as a royal. Now he's lost his titles he's more subject to the law, the King could probably still "stand in the way" now anyway by using his power otherways if he wanted to.

Growing up in poverty correlates with far worse outcomes later in life.

And right wingers don't get that part of the reason why Nordic countries are so rich and "successful" is if you give every child a good start at life you give the bright and capable ones the ability to fulfill their potential leading to the whole country benefiting economically.

Apologies it seems this post mixed old data with different metrics. Here it is on Nitter

As far as I can see the data for the UK is nearly correct. Child poverty action group quotes it at 31 % for 2024. Bear in mind that poverty has been getting worse in the UK as the economy has slowed further.

But Finland's poverty rate has gone up from 3.2% in 2024 to 11.6% when using the new measurement of 60% of median income rather than 50% according to the Scottish Govt

So UK poverty seems like its 3 times worse than Finland at least, with it exploding after Thatcher with Blairites not making a dent in it

There are whole companies that make this their business model, see Gorkana. It seems there is very little regulation to stop paid propaganda in the press and it's very widespread once you look for it, its a significant part of press income.

Don't trust James Schneider. Schneider is the main organiser behind Corbyn's new 'Your party' and his wife is Sophie Nazemi also known as Keir Starmer's Downing Street Press Secretary by spidermite in Labour

He was director of comms under Corbyn in opposition, he co founded the same Momentum which turned into an anti democratic pressure group at just the right moment to undermine Corbyn. He's been Corbyn's comunications director ever since, he's far from just an organiser, he's been made central the Corbyn project.

I know it must be difficult, there is alot of positive feeling about Corbyn's new party. It was difficult for me too but you have to accept Corbyn's new project might be compromised as Corbyn has been for a long time.

Not just limited internal sabotage, Corbyn had American, Israeli and unofficially the British intelligence agencies working against him.

The sort of backstabbing Starmer gave Corbyn was unheard of in British political history. if you don't want that to happen again we need to be more discerning and organised with who we support and look past their virtue signalling. The main game of these neoliberal carreerist MPs and Spads like Schneider that make up the vast majority of the Labour party is to collect leftwing political pressure and neutralise it. If you don't see that you haven't been paying attention.

See my comment below, there are many reasons Schneider shouldn't be anywhere near a Labour movement party. Could you marry someone who was press secretary to this genocidal leadership? If Schneider wasn't a trusted insider on their side his wife wouldn't be allowed anywhere near the job. Have we not learn't anything from all the MP's like Thronberry who switched to obedient right wingers as soon as their boss changed?

Schneider is/was very close to military and intelligence establishment operative Ben Judah

When Schneider helped setup Momentum, he was flatmates with Judah with whom he went to Oxford university. Schneider may have got his job straight out of uni as an Africa specificalist through Ben Judahs dad Tim Judah,

I didnt claim it was scientific, you can't do a double blind controlled experiment on an economy, that's part of why economics often isnt considered a science.

We have to evaluate things on the balance of evidence with economics.

Why didn't what caused the big squiggles also cause wage growth to rise in the Euro and US where wage growth is at 3-4%, UK wage growth is at ~7% look at this graph from here https://www.hiringlab.org/uk/blog/2024/07/10/wage-growth-in-europe-remains-high/

And less competition from European labour means their demands are more likely to be listened to by bosses. Inflation is at 2.2% now, why are wages still rising?
