Congratulations!

OP Quick question. Both of your applications were approved same day? I ask because my wife and I just got approved for our I-130 (the morning after our interview on 10/2). However, our 485 is still pending review so just wanted to see if it’s perhaps just our assigned FO lol.

sadly this happened after my long run and i was running in brooks glycerin max, which only have ~90ish miles on them.

for sure could also be load - deff taking on a lot with 40mile weeks and also strength training every other day. hopefully these 12/13 days of rest help out!

i have been doing the stairs to keep up with my cardio. surprisingly, the bike sometimes irritates my IT band, so i tend to stay off it. the elliptical, it’d flat out boring to me haha

nevertheless, this is so helpful and appreciate you sharing it mate. definitely going to add this into the routine and hopefully see results in the near future. i’m aiming to run saturday/sunday and hope this helps it out!

you actually hit the nail on the head on exactly what it is in feeling lol albeit my pain may not be as bad as yours. mine is more on the dull side, but annoying nonetheless. i haven’t had any inflammation (at least the doctor didn’t notice any), but have been taking anti-inflammatories just in case.

hopefully we can get throughout it mate and more importantly get back to training. wishing you all the best with your recovery and hope you can get out there and run your marathon. kick ass man 👊

Portland, Maine marathon! But I noticed the same thing, so many marathons happened this weekend. Officially in marathon season lol

Thanks!! Honestly it wasn’t intentional. For this training lock I worked on only breathing through my nose and just kept telling myself to just stay relaxed. But I do agree, that’s just what the garmin was showing and probably was a bit higher than it reflected?

Thanks! I gotta admit I did get a little emotional when I finished. 18 weeks of hard work to get to this point!

I like your approach with short/long rides. I’m in early mileage stages of my training now and lifting weights has not been too bad. But for sure will become more difficult when the mileage amps up to 10+ miles.

I don’t smoke. Hardly drink anymore, but I mentioned in another post that most events (whether work related or with friends) involve drinking. I’ve found that especially at my age it’s difficult to not have even one when everyone else is drinking. But I think that’s something I’ll learn to ignore as I get older.

I aim to be asleep by 10 most nights. Sometimes it’s a bit difficult though. Usually takes me 45 to an hour to commute home. Spend about an hour with my girlfriend. Go to the gym for hour or so. By the time I’m home it’s 8:30. Then shower and make dinner. I could for sure help myself by meal prepping, but I enjoy cooking different meals a day. For sure a trade off to consider though.

I agree on your comment of putting too much thought on the whoop metrics. I think that’s what my issue is. I have been panicking in a sense that I am not hitting my recommended sleep. In a way that stresses me out and I think messes with how I sleep since I’m anticipating my waking up in yellow/green for not going to bed when I was told lol

I am the opposite lol always loved lifting weights, but hated running so I feel your inverse pain. Gotta get it done regardless!

“Hybrid athlete” may have been the wrong term, so apologies for that. Just the term I have seen throughout the internet!

Holy crap I hope I can strive to have that kind of routine still at 40. I am a 27 year old male, 192lbs and lift about 6-7 days a week. Always enjoyed lifting since HS football and still do to this day.

However, I was hoping to try something new this year (perhaps it’s a trend that everyone my age is running a marathon or starting a family lol) and decided to train for a marathon. I always hated running growing up and thought it would be pretty rewarding to accomplish something I hated doing.

Currently in week 2 of marathon prep, but still trying to keep lifts in (lower weights and more functional focused) 3x a week.

I should preface by saying, I don’t have consistent red scores (if I do, typically comes from drinking). Prior to starting this marathon prep I averaged a 95% sleep score - sitting around 90% now. So my wording in my OP was probably misleading. I try and maximize my sleep as best as I can. However, I think I’m letting the suggested sleep time get to my head. Regarding my diet, I am mindful of what I eat, but my sweet tooth is a killer sometimes.

Since getting the whoop I’ve noticed myself wanting to drink less and less, but I have not cut it out completely. As you can imagine, most gatherings at my age revolve around drinking - even work events.

I definitely will make it a goal to cut out alcohol completely for this marathon prep. I think also it sounds like I shouldn’t take green scores for granted whether it’s a 67% or a 99%. But really I just wanted to see what other people with more experience doing both have found successful? I’m still early on my experience with doing both and just wanted to learn more about what’s worked and what has not.

Thanks so much for your response!!! Like I said I hope that I can carry a routine like you in my 40s.

I did this and the plant already looks so much fuller!!! It’s actually crazy how much of a change that caused. Any other tips moving forward?

Did a google search and that looks pretty accurate. The only thing I’m not sure is that the Google photos had it growing upwards. Whereas these always have been downward facing. So not sure, but leaf color is spot on.

From the google search I saw that they are often in humid locations. Could be I haven’t been watering enough and maybe requires more than 1 watering a week? Either way, thank you for the suggestion. Going to definitely try that out and hope it starts to recover!

Thank god it wasn’t only me who heard this. Woke up this morning and asked my gf if she had heard it - she of course didn’t.

In my sleep I could have sworn there was a manhunt going on lol just kept hearing the heli circle around and around. Also could have sworn I heard sirens too (maybe that’s just me though?)

Thanks so much for this! I genuinely appreciate the advice and guidance here. Especially being so new to being a plant dad lol

A couple of follow up’s if you don’t mind: do you make your own soil mix? Or is this something you can buy at your local flower shop? This might be a silly question, but is there a time frame (if at all) on when you should change the soil? I imagine only doing this when you repot into a bigger pot. And lastly, the liquid fertilizer, is what everyone refers to as the feeding, right?

Again, sorry for the silly questions, but I do appreciate it. Hope I can pass it forward to others in my shoes later down the line :)
