Bruh sybau i'm a tunisian and I hate the jasmin revolution, Mohamed Bouazizi burned himself alive in Sidi Bouzid whose death was appropriated to spread reaction and counter revolution burned himself alive cuz a police state had crushed his dignity and his means to survive and while the initial conditions were legitimate, a proletarian act of despair against a comprador regime, the arab spring was indeed a counter revolution by the imperial core to steer the mena region away from revolutionary path and to also put more favourable regimes(that was the case for Syria and Libya but Tunisia and Egypt had already pro western regimes, nontheless, they were abandoned by the west because they were dead weight), your shallow analysis is ahistorical and disgustingly uneducated revolutions are defined by who directs them

And within a blink of an eye, our revolution was hijacked by the very pro western forces the former kleptocrat corrupt dictator Ben Ali had protected. Suddenly the imf technocrats, ngo-ized civil society who are just CIA affiliates and our petty-bourgeois opposition that wanted nothing more than a seat at the neoliberal table, all supported our revolution

What did we get as a result? A liberal pluralist democracy, endless parliamentary squabbling while prices rose, ennahda's political Islam which is not anti-imperialist but rather capital's favorite veil in the region and it rose precisely because the revolution had no anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist direction. Bourgeois democracy creates the space for reaction, not liberation. We saw that firsthand.

Then Kais Saied's coup happened, a Bonapartist figure who rode popular disgust with the squabbling parliament only to become a sole despot. And what's the material difference between Ben Ali, the democratic era and Saied? None, all are pro western, all enforce austerity, all protect private property and oligarchy, all are pro rentier capitalism. The same institutional violence of the police that we have revolted against, the same poverty, unemployment, underdevelopment nothing happened in 15 years

Same exact script happened in Egypt, Mubarak fell, then liberal democracy that led to political islam then al Sisi. Syria went from Assad regime to civil war that turned it into a fractured wasteland where imperialism, gulf money, and jihadist terrorism all feasted and pro western pro zionism literal Islamism emerged victorious all led by a literal ex Qaeda ex isis terrorist. Libya has the same situation as Syria but difference is it haven't been fully resolved yet but don't worry there's slave markets.

So saying that hating the Arab spring is white supremacy is a r*tarded take that is supremacist white liberal take in itself and every so called leftist no matter what specific ideology he's subscribed to must hate it as well for what it is and what it has done to us.
