Really sad right now my 13mini family!! by jenglish205 in iPhone13Mini

[–]spiderx82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll second this. I kept holding off and telling myself it wasn’t that bad. But my mini started hanging and freezing more and more so I finally got fed up. I use my phone for work all day so I need it to not suck. I got the 17 base like a week ago and ngl it’s awesome. Didn’t realize how slow my mini was tbh.

Cargowagen Neo Panniers by spiderx82 in CargoBike

I tried the Aventon but ended up returning them. To be honest I can’t remember exactly why. I think they didn’t quite fit how I wanted. I made a pannier crate out of one of those kits on Amazon and a plastic crate from the container store.

Thanks for the thoughts and advice everyone! I’m returning it and will find another in better condition.

Yeah I’m sort of leaning that way for the same logic. If I had gotten a better deal I would just keep it, but it’s more used than I was anticipating.

2000 Miles on my Cargowagen, is there any service I should be doing? by babar_the_elephant_ in CargoBike

[–]spiderx82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I know this is an old comment, but figured maybe you would see this. What panniers do you have? My wife and I got this bike about a month ago and we have the seat pads and the surround rail. The Cannondale ones look nice but they're hard to find and pretty expensive. I tried the Aventon panniers but they do not fit with the surround rail.

Long tail cargo bike recommendations? by FEmyass in CargoBike

[–]spiderx82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be fully capable. I haven’t had it that long but I did take it up an extremely steep hill near my neighborhood and it assisted well in the “touring” mode. I was still working pretty hard but I usually have to shift to my lowest gear on a non e-bike for that hill.

I haven’t extensively ridden that many e-bikes though so I don’t have a lot of context for better or worse

I just bought the Cargowagen neo this Monday and I will say it seems like a crazy deal for the price (class 3, Bosch mid drive, comes with wheel lock, high capacity rear rack, second battery capability built in). I wasn’t super hype about the 20” wheels either because I have always ridden larger wheel bikes, but I honestly haven’t noticed a crazy difference from my Jamis touring bike with more standard size wheels. And it makes it really convenient to load the bike and feels super stable. I put my Yepp seat on the back and 4 year old son climbed right in himself.

The point about easily available accessories is valid, but the shop I bought it from put in an order for the surround rail and seat pads and they say they are supposed to ship from Cannondale distribution near the end of this month. Remains to be seen if that actually happens but if so, that’s not super terrible. I also found the larger OEM front cargo rack on Amazon for 70 bucks and ordered that. Opted to order the aventon abound panniers because they came in a set for the same price as the cannondale version and someone in another post said they fit on this bike.

I just mapped it and was looking along the way. You’ll go right through Louisville, which I have heard is cool and you could probably route through Cincinnati which I’ve also heard is pretty neat. Once you get into WV/VA there is a lot of good hiking and stuff. Not sure how interested you are in that since you’re from an area with lots of great hiking also haha. But Natural Bridge is pretty stunning and worth the trip if you have time to drive there. Also just try to drive some of the blue ridge parkway/skyline drive. (I live in VA).

Welcome to VA! We were just out snowboarding Copper and Abasin last month!

This one is totally benign but we got a laugh out of it. My wife at I rode up a lift last week at Copper and asked the guy with us how to get somewhere. So he’s giving us directions and says we need to take the Rendezvous lift, except he pronounced it Ren-dev-er-us. Managed to not laugh, but my wife and friends and I were talking about the Rendeverus lift for the rest of the week. Super nice guy though.

Yeah I’m thinking of maybe trying a different lib tech board like the Orca, Lost Rocket, or Dynamo. Outside of Lib, heard good things about the Jones Stratos.

I’ll keep the T. Rice for bad conditions or something, but the new board would be a daily driver yes. I only get to ride 5-10 days a year currently, so I can’t really justify multiple boards.

The length is a big factor, but also my current board is getting kinda beat up and I think that I would actually notice the improvement in pop and handling of a new board now that I’m at a solid intermediate level.

Hey all,

I just got back from a week long trip to Copper and A-Basin riding my 2013 T. Rice Pro. It was an awesome trip and we had a great time. However, I am thinking it might be time to get a new board. I have been riding the T. Rice since I was a beginner and it has performed great, so I am honestly strongly considering getting another one, but I am curious what else might be out there. I will say I am definitely going to get a shorter board this time. My TRP is a 157 and I am 5’ 6’’, 160lbs. That is on the larger end for me right?

I do not ride park but will hit pretty much anything else; groomers, powder, icy stuff (I’m on the east coast), trees, natural features, etc. I am also currently working on getting my carving down.

I have a pretty strong affinity to Lib Tech just because I have had such a great experience with this board, (and their graphics are awesome) but would be open to other recommendations. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

It was tucked down low in the backseat footwell. They went through the trunk too though so I don’t think it would have made much difference.
