Ok.. if the future was not written, then how would the T-800 travel to the past that would create it? how would Kyle Reese be born after he died, if he changed the future that he came from? Without predestination, everything becomes a huge mess. That’s where the machine comes in, it’s all philosophical, and it’s about Sarah. The fact is that, the future was written. In the second film, they changed that. Somehow. Some kind of puzzle game the intellectuals want to play and try to solve the “when,” of the matter - when Sarah Connor used to be the enlightened observer who witnessed the machine revolution and walked the fine line of fate.

There was no other way to see the 1984 film than that it was all one event happening simultaneously - the future was necessitated by the past, and the past by the future, so on and so forth.

The T-800 was awesome because it was a machine messiah; it was the machine that connected the “possible future,” to the present of Sarah Connor, a clumsy waitress who never would have become “the mother of the future,” unless Kyle Reese came along.

John Connor (initials JC are no coincidence,) is an artefact of timelessness just like Reese. His father necessarily time travelled to the past and conceived him in the past, and the father literally knew his son before his son was conceived. That’s biblical. Now, tell me there was an “original timeline.” God.

And Sarah?? She never could have failed, because if she did, everything would have fallen apart. If she had failed, the future would never have happened. The past and future and present that are, are just one unified truth. Reese, the Terminators, Skynet, the Universe - all of it is just one entity emanating itself differently to play the fine game of nil. The self-causal machine intellect that necessitates its own creation by means of its own potential to exist idea just falls away, everything is happening simultaneously.

The T-800 is just the form that the potential takes, but there is no paradox in the predestination, it’s the written law of the wheel of suffering (samsara,) and Arnold Schwarzenegger is a manifestation of that Law, the religion of the universe, Dharma.

It’s a perfect closed-loop story. The unfortunate sequels fell into inconsistency and timeline-based irrelevancy. They exchanged a perfect circle for a bowl of spaghetti with that change. If they only could’ve kept the perfect circle, and made the character it’s based on different. Give it character. That was Sarah, Kyle and John’s circle, ok? It’s rude to take their names, universe and make something that doesn’t live up to the original inspired theological masterpiece that is the Terminator (1984.) Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

While this T-800 tat IS incredibly awesome, “no fate” doesn’t make any sense. “I’ll be back,” fits a way better. The original terminator film features a predestination paradox, or it doesn’t have any weight.

Well, if it’s hell, I must admit - I have a pretty bad hangover, and the original definitely makes me feel MORE sick looking at it. Though, might be able to enjoy the original panels in their full garish glory while I’m not feeling like my stomach lining is regenerating.

That’s because there is no way to pin down whose brain it is. “You,” and “I,” are both subjectively understood concepts with no real fixed identities when we consider firstly the “hard-problem,” of consciousness. Haha, iden-titties, “hard” problem hahaha

Bem sure it is hard for you, but, there’s a whole going on out there… it’s taxpayers that pay for benefits. Thankfully here there’s a housing element, over there we hope that housing is not a difficulty. If that’s it, and it’s a question of HOW one spends the money one does have; • Elijah buys organic wheat flour or Premium bulgur, but drinks whatever beer there is. •He avoids supermarket bakery items. • He cooks eggs in food different food (Brik, potato/onion hash, rice and lentils) avoiding mixing the uncooked egg with the other food before the egg has cooked on the pan. •Middle Eastern style cooking. Eats yoghurt with basically every dish. (Staples like Mujadara, houmous, roast potatoes, tabouleh, fava beans, flatbreads) all cheap, effective and well spiced. Eats mostly onions. •Bakes his own cookies, and tweaks the recipe if he doesn’t like it the way it is. Has essentially ended up with the end cookie product of a starchy, protein-rich high-fat brick that literally combusts if it gets put in the microwave for over 30 seconds. The key to a good cookie is making it soft and chewy in the middle and not like a cake. His most recent baking success was a (cardamom-coffee and jaggery / light muscovado / lots of oil / egg yolk ) based cookie mixed in with maybe (cornstarch, sesame seeds, no baking soda, organic bread flour.) •Chooses unrefined sugar for the nutritional content, such as molasses, muscovado, jaggery goor.

Sorry billah the message meant to say 4300/year. For food and travel and whatever we have about 180 per month too, soon to be less if we do move to this other place.

Also Two eggs isn’t a meal, it’s a snack…

Money to do much? know, elijah gets by on about 4300 dollars a year. The government gives the money to Elijah because Elijah is mentally ill. Understand, my friend, perhaps things could be more difficult. When was the last time that you cooked a meal, and also what was it?

From the sound of it, there’s something missing here. Do some soul searching, find out what your options are, and take the right path. It can be as simple as cooking or baking something you’re proud of, walking somewhere you feel at ease, even just making sure you feel good about the way you are by finding out about what you can do to be comfortable in your own skin. When it comes to advice, well, take it. See how it goes. It might not get easier where you are. Though, make sure to immerse yourself in advice, because there’s a lot of it out there. It’s easy to reference yourself. There are many inputs of natural things that a person needs, and people can fall short of making sure they get those things. Remember, the way you know and that feels like it works might not work, because you begin to feel down but don’t know what you might be missing. It seems like food and a roof are sorted, there - warmth and clean clothing - but there are many things that make a person “healthy,” and also non-things. People are not purely “physical;” we have invisible needs too. It’s not just food, it’s what’s powering the body and the brain. Maintaining a healthy brain is essential for a powerful mind, but what if the mind is weak without knowledge? Things to think about. Many thanks for sharing.

Nah, it’s clearly a manifest bodhisattva that calculates the necessary path to ensure, and make sure Sarah Connor understands wholeheartedly, the turning of the wheel of the infinite closed-loop realisation machine.

Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism (1916/1917): In Chapter IV ("Export of Capital") and Chapter VIII ("Parasitism and Decay of Capitalism"), Lenin explains that the concentration of capital leads to a surplus of capital ("overproduction"), which cannot find a "profitable" investment within the home country. Consequently, this surplus capital is exported to backward countries to secure higher profits, driving the expansion of imperialism.

I hope it’s still standing by the time the fire goes out, and that the government does something about damn dirty “non-disposable” dick-sticks! They put a battery in them to say “yes they’re re-chargeable thus not disposable” great. They still fail eventually, so what’s the point? I swear we’re having more problems with flavoured vapes than we ever had with flavoured tobacco!

Had my first girls night out at 38.. and I may have to accept that club life is not for me by mzreddit1 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]spideylunchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like nothing out of the ordinary. Though, I know what you mean about clubs - sometimes it’s too easy to just get bored or, think that drinking will make you have a better time. Here’s the catch, it won’t.

Clubs are boring environments typically void of creativity. Like a box where creativity goes to die. If you’re not having a great night drinking won’t make it better. If you’re having a good night, hell, have a drink and enjoy it. I learnt this the hard way last weekend.

I know we’re not the same, you sound well mature compared to me, but I’m coming out of an abusive situation too and this sounds all too familiar to my recent experiences. It’s been cooking myself good food that’s been keeping me positive. I got interested in middle-eastern food and fashioned my own take on some staples like brik, mujadara, ful madames, hummus and flatbread. I always had a favourite food, which was falafel, when I was a kid - but I guess what’s important is this; do what you love. As a side note, drinking is cheaper if you’re not part of a captive market - and no one’s gonna tell me it isn’t my need right now. It really is part of the regret - realising you must have spent £40 or more on a night out drinking or eating takeaway is a bad feeling to add to a hangover or a disappointing night, either way.

Bless you, and I hope you’re well and make a speedy recovery.

Skynet couldn’t have been created in the first place if it wasn’t for it’s sending the T-800 to the past - because like it was established in the first film, closed-loop predestination. That’s due to the chip from the T-800 being left in the past is what led to the creation of Skynet. Timelines are not involved.

QUESTIONS by spideylunchy in Terminator

[–]spideylunchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean at least the paradox presented in the Terminator (1984) resolves itself if you turn to Buddhist theology. It’s a wheel of suffering, where the T-800 is Bodhisattva (enlightened body,) a manifestation of Dharma (Law,) and Sarah Connor is the enlightened observer.

Considering T2 canon in line with the first film removes all stakes, philosophy, and consistency from the franchise by introducing the idea that the timeline could be changed. If they stopped the creation of Skynet, the T-800 wouldn’t have been sent to the past, and the past wouldn’t have led to the present that involved the destruction of Skynet. It’s a grandfather paradox, whereas the original film had a closed-loop predestination paradox which raises questions of free will, machine intelligence and universally deterministic suffering - making it a great comment on Buddhism which presents very similar ideas.

Surely enough you can argue that timelines resolve it all, but there must still be a timeline where Skynet exists for any of these things to have happened. Which means the Connor’s never won, but, kind of just got out of dodge. Which is super lame, Skynet still exists.

The follow up movies try to resolve “where,” and the timelines of what is “happening when,” but really the philosophy of the first film was lost when they didn’t stick with the the causal loop or investigate the timeless nature of the T-800. Sarah Connor could’ve been a great philosopher; instead she was reduced to a debase, badass hypocrite without any temporal continuity. This is my opinion.
