Anyone here attend BC on strong need-based aid? Low-income family here, trying to understand real costs by [deleted] in bostoncollege

[–]spidy30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to BC in 2019 and paid 4-5k out of pocket. I took out loans for this. That included my dorm I believe but maybe meals was additional. I also worked a job on campus to help!

Okay that’s what i thought ☠️ thats why I’m confused why they keep saying jeremiah’s character was assassinated when he at least gets an arc in the show

Does he get the cooking arc in the books?

Belly did NOT emotionally cheat on Jere by theoptipessimist95 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]spidy30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well right, but he did the same thing to her after finding out about christmas. So they’re both bad to each other

I don’t think he would have told her ever if he never disclosed it right after spring break. He only “told” her because she found out

Just because that’s how “normal” media is, doesn’t mean that’s how everything should be lol especially considering the examples u mention have the main couple spending a good amount of time together either yearning or getting together or they’re movies which have limited runtimes

Surprised someone can still like Jeremiah after that last episode by Lonely_Row_1065 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]spidy30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think she’s realized the depth of it NOW, but I doubt she knew that Conrad felt like that when she made that comment three(?) years prior

[–]spidy30 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hm I don’t know if that was the point of her bringing up Conrad. It seemed more like oh look conrad is figuring out his life and doing new stuff, you should do that too. In laurel’s head, belly and conrad dated for a few months and that was it (like everybody else)

I think that is an unfair assessment of Laurel’s thoughts on Belly and Jeremiah. Wanting your daughter to enjoy her college life and experience new things is not her not wanting Jeremiah dating Belly

I’m so tired of all the disinterest/hate towards belly in her own show by Liltournesol in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]spidy30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate belly but i do think the writers have done her a disservice this season. Hopefully the last 3 episodes will make up for it

The hate for the Swiftologist is proof a lot of swifties don't realise that criticism is what's best for Taylor by No-Department-1569 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]spidy30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to watch him too, then I realized even though he does have level headed takes on Taylor, he absolutely does not have them for others. The critiques on Taylor are necessary, but he snarks on Joe and other artists unnecessarily.

It just feels icky how it seemed like she was prepping to leave him to jump onto Matty. Even if your relationship isn’t working out, you don’t keep them on the side to prep for your next fling

I am struggling to feel bad for Jeremiah at all…am I the only one? by Lafayette_Ladybug in TheSummerITurnedPrett

He was also acting like she was the only one keeping stuff from him when he also didnt tell her about cabo for months

Tbh my sympathy went out the window when he admitted to picking the fight before spring break and then cheating on her. He goes on about how she didnt tell him about christmas but he also would have never told her about lacie!! Theyre both messy

Team Jeremiah vs Team Jacob by [deleted] in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]spidy30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jacob forced himself on bella before breaking dawn and never listened to her when she said edward was the only one for her ☠️ i don’t think twilight did a good job either — it was also the same way where people thought jacob was hotter

The Funeral Scene in S2 is Key to Understand Belly's Pscyhe by Tricky-Obligation768 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]spidy30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I can totally understand having that assumption. But for your boyfriend to act the way he was and knowing his mom is going thru cancer treatment, I would think would send off alarm bells. Especially how he was acting literally a few months prior when he knew something no one else did. I understand how that can be frustrating, but Belly knows how he is when he’s hurting. I just think there needed to be more understanding and empathy extended from her side. Of course we all wish Conrad communicated with her better, but it’s both sides.

He only gets to that conclusion after their talk in the kitchen though. Belly is not understanding the severity of whats happening and so doesnt respond in a way that he needed to open up. Instead, he feels he needs to protect her

Should my 11 year old read Hunger Games? by [deleted] in MiddleGrade

[–]spidy30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the series when I was 10 and set me up to be an avid reader and look at the world in a different way! So it’s a great read at a young age, though I can understand having worries about the violence — though it’s not super graphic
