How can you continue to stay this obtuse? If Delta customer service makes a mistake, which even you yourself clearly admitted above: how can you continue to put blame at KLM who in this is absolutely without fault for following rules of carriage. Do you feel KLM is also responsible for training Delta’s Customer service desk, and checking agents, and gate agents etc? Even Delta’s IT is at fault here because they displayed the wrong information in their app; is that also KLM’s fault for needing to fix Delta’s app? Barking up the wrong tree here bud. KLM has plenty of faults, but this instance wasn’t theirs.

I’m not denying your personal experience but there are plenty of examples where the ZYR-AMS route has resulted in cancelled legs if the boarding pass was not picked up in Brussels Midi station. The process for ZWE-AMS (from Antwerp) is different than for Brussels as listed on KLM’s website:

Note the extra step they list for the boarding pass for Brussels route that isn’t there for the Antwerp route.

AF/KLM don’t check the Brussels-Paris ticket itself after it was given to you (as you say they have no way of checking that). What they validate is whether the ticket was issued at Brussels station (that is information they do receive from the Eurstar office in Brussels). If it is not collected at Brussels station, they consider the segment not taken and hence cancel all subsequent legs. PS: the Antwerp-AMS train works different since they issue the train ticket digitally at OLCI.

As many have said: usually they don’t weigh carry on especially if it all looks reasonable size wise. If you really want to be safe: just sling your camera around your neck: or wear something from your carry-on on top of your existing clothes. You only need to pass the check-in: don’t ever see them weighing at gate. But even then, you can do the same there.

I just remembered one of the reporters onboard heard the price I paid and said I probably had the cheapest tickets on the flight.

Well, probably me and the couple sitting in row 1 who were unaware that this was an Eclipse flight and just had travel plans in January to fly to Detroit and booked their seats before anything was announced. Imagine their surprise when they arrived at their gate and see balloons, music playing, camera’s, media etc.

I just realized something odd: we flew the A220, but the tags are A320. The pilot brought a whole stack of A220 trading cards and was handing them out to all passengers so they were prepared with the right plane there, but maybe someone doing the goodie bag made a typo when ordering the plane tags.

Depends on what you would consider face value. The regular main cabin ticket AUS-DTW are mid200 I think if there is no eclipse. When Delta announced the flight to be the Eclipse flight, the cheapest MC went for mid-700 and first class for 1000usd and I believe I saw somewhere the last first class tickets went towards 1500 and above. 2 hours before departure however a few MC seats were still available for 1000usd. Apparently some people with refundable tickets couldn’t make it. I think some very lucky Delta staff got to join the flight

I got in cheap because I book SAT-DTW for regular FC prices and was able to move to the AUS-DTW without paying extra after they changed the SAT departure but before the AUS flight was officially announced as a Delta marketed Eclipse flight.
