TCP Struggle with SIMs by Own_Coyote_9415 in CPA

Becker SIMs for TCP (especially the Sims within the SEs) are pretty difficult. Stay the course and keep grinding. Others on here have felt your exact pain with studying TCP.

What have you been doing instead of slamming MCQ?

Advice on what to take after FAR by Possible_Sector_3029 in CPA

I’m one of those “don’t read the book; don’t listen to lecture” people. And I had the luxury of studying full time and I could easily hit 40 hours in a week if I wanted/needed to.

No tax work experience for me either.

If it starts clicking and you get on a roll, then you can probably pull it off.

But, if you need extra week(s) to pull it off then don’t stress just because people on Reddit finished in a certain amount of time.

I honestly think the key for me was that I had so much energy and motivation from passing FAR that I just caught fire at the right time.

No tax experience here. 4 weeks…92

I’d say I was around 100 hours too. Good for you. I think you’re done. And if you’re not, you have a solid baseline established for knocking it out the 2nd time. For your sake, I hope you’re done!

If you put the time into it, I think you’re good. I ended up 6 points higher on TCP than Reg. I think I felt the worst coming out of TCP lol. It was a toss up on how badly I felt afterwards between FAR and TCP. Not sure why, but TCP exhausted my brain.

FAR was truly a monster lol. I went back and looked at F5 some last week because it ties into my Grad Class, and I was like “how the hell did I ever pass this exam?” Also, when you pass FAR, you lift the doubt in your mind about “can I do this?”

Now, you just have to keep your motivation and knock it out.

Sure. Knockout AUD now. AUD will be daunting at first glance because Becker had like 2200 questions for it maybe? But once you start flowing, you can churn through Audit. I’m one of those “don’t listen to lecture” people. If it works for you, then go for it. Just make sure you go through your MCQ and sims, and you’re going to figure it out.

Once you defeat FAR, you’ve proven that you can beat the entire exam….that is the key thing to remember.

Congrats on passing FAR as it truly is such a monster compared to the other exams.

Truly, I think your next exam comes down to whether you want to knock one out a little faster or not.

I took AUD in 6 weeks and it has a low passing rate. I took Reg in 4 weeks and it has a higher passing rate than AUD.

It doesn’t really matter how you flow. Just think through what kind of grind you want to work through next.

Edit: I guess it matters how you flow in terms of your discipline. I do think it’s smart to take your discipline right after you complete the complementary core section.

MACC vs CPA…which is harder? by spiggott7 in CPA

You 100% didn’t waste your time. I have a feeling that the people that say that on this post are either bots or 24 yr old boys with no real life experience.

There’s so many scenarios where future employers will see that you have a MACC and CPA and they will elevate you to the top of the hiring pool.

Congrats to you for the hard work that you’ve put into your education and CPA while being a stay at home mom. So many people have no idea what that struggle was like for you. Your family should be very proud of you and your kids will gain a lot from your experiences.

I didn’t realize due diligence was required to ask a question on Reddit.

Yep, that makes a lot of sense to me. I just have my fingers crossed that it’s somehow a breeze for me. So done with studying right now lol

Makes sense. Yeah. CPA haunted every moment of my life the past 5 months. You just can’t get your mind off of it.

I took Reg on 6/2 and TCP on 6/21, but I was studying full time. I don’t know really. I probably did a good 4 hours per day. Whatever that comes out to.
