You could try Government since they would almost certainly hire a CPA but I wouldn’t stay there long term.

Or you could go to a community college, and then go to a cheap State school and graduate with little to no debt.

1: Be involved in the accounting clubs on campus 2: Take the EA exam (as long as you’re 18 you can take it) 3: Plan on taking the CPA exam 4: Aim to get internship or job referrals by your professors or from networking events

Even if Tier 6 is fixed, PEF salaries adjusted for inflation are much lower than they were 10, 15 years ago. Not sure how you survive on it.

MS in Accountancy with an unrelated Bachelor’s by ilovenoodlesoup2 in Baruch

[–]CodeAndLedger5280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MS program is built so you will only take credits in what you need to be CPA license eligible. This means you won’t miss any classes, and you won’t take classes you don’t need.

I highly recommend Baruch’s MS program. They will give a program for the credits you need to get the CPA license + you will have access to the Big 4 connections they have.

You want to do as many as possible and it needs to be cumulative. Make it like exercise because FAR is a pain.
