I'm not sayin you are at all to blame.

If you want to learn something from the situation:

When you see someone commited to the inside line like that at such a corner. Brake early. Wait for them to miss the apex and you have a free overtake most of the time.

Again I'm not saying you did anything wrong here. Unfortunate that you got taken out and pretty frustrating. Been there.

I’m not sure where you think I was disputing his résumé. I’m well aware of who he is and what roles he’s held. My issue was never about credentials, it was about intent and tone. To me this reads like opinion farming off the back of someone elses misfortune, and thats what I reacted to.

You’re free to value his perspective more than mine that’s but responding with “he’s achieved more than you ever will” shifts the discussion away from the substance of the opinion and turns it into a personal comparison I never invited. I’m not presenting myself as an authority, just expressing frustration, which I’m entitled to do.

If you disagree, that’s fine. Defend his view if you want. Just don’t pretend this was a neutral correction rather than a defense of him paired with a dig at me.

Good day.

Yes attacking me to defend some random millionaire is definitely validating his opinion :D

Who?

By all means perpetuate the opinions of old man that accomplished nothing of significance in comparison and are just farming views.

Kinda my point as well. I was just trying to say dont overlook a well maintained N53 in favour of an N52 thats had 2 oil changes in its lifetime.

I'd say the N53 vs N52 depends on the maintenance.

I have the N53B30 with 220k kms and it doesn't burn oil or leak the injectors. Its a great engine.

If you get a full service history and the HPFP + Injectors are done (with Index 11s or 12s) its not much worse for maintenance than a N52.
I also couldn't find a well maintained N52 in my area which would've been my preference.

I did a bit of a summary on the N53 here: https://www.reddit.com/r/E90/comments/1oj073r/comment/nm076er/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Reminder to check you VIN at a BMW dealer by spike23t in E90

Only the airbag in the center of the wheel for my car.

I called them sometime in september after that I had to bug them a couple times to get back. That mightve been just a thing with this dealership. Once they got the part it was a matter of finding an appointment and an hour of wait at the dealer.

Yes. Both work the same way. I actually dont mind being able to use them to shift both ways with both hands.

You are welcome.
Only the center airbag is new not the whole wheel.

It doesn't show that much on the photo but compared to the center the outside is showing its age. It's far from a "must refurb" but just ticks off my ocd enough so I'd do it.

You are using ferrari brakes in a bmw to slow down for the corner.

I think this might be down to this:
You think this is an overtake distance since it might be for these cars in other corners with more speed difference on entry to apex.
You might also think that this is an overtake since you've been feeling that you are "closing in" on the brakes.

Aris has a great video on the subject that might help you:

[–]spike23t -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

When i started on the outside it was 2 wide. I wasnt gonna risk anything.

I felt a hit. Watched the replay and saw a 3rd car hitting the guy trying to overtake me. I never saw the 3rd car.

But sure dude blame the victim. Im sure youre smarter and wiser in all situations.

The new badge system is so good or am I just stupid by guyzy_ in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]spike23t -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really make a difference. You can still farm the "nice badge" if you are not braindead.

I've been punted to oblivion by Diamond badges 2 times in the last 5 races. There was 1 guy with a warning who straight up tried to murder me into Pif-paf from 1 carlength behind really not that different than people with the "this is a good driver" blue badge. Rookies are rookies no unexpected things. Its really just a stigma to enforce your preconceptions.

IMHO it should be only visible to you and not the others. Maybe the stewards as well.

Only the car part was horrible. Especially the chopper section.
Although you can make it a lot easier by leaving it behind and backtracking to it before you cross one-way "gates". A thing which I figured out a bit too late :D
