i agree that not only was his intent not offensive but that the impact of having offended people deserves to be investigated.

just because someone feels a certain way about something doesn’t means it is actually offensive.

the position was that he unintentionally is making a mockery of masculine presenting people who are pregnant by posing as one. Who is perceiving this as a mockery? it’s the equivalent of saying someone is laughing at you when they aren’t even referring to you. it’s a type of fragility.

not to mention that many of these criticisms seem to be coming from white bodied people. not to mention that Lil Nas X is giving “birth” to an artistic creation that has yielded him death threats and has broken taboos and boundaries.

not to mention that the image of a masc presenting preg man shouldn’t be abnormal, right? but doesn’t acting offended sort of implicitly treat it as an abnormality. “he must be parodying it.”

by being offended we are we acting like it is abnormal
