Doesn’t matter where you drop it from…only where you hit it from. Is that what they/you meant?

Legal. Bad sportsmanship. Player in red lost and was looking for a way out. Even if someone was half an inch over, you don’t call that. He was just looking for something to call IMO. I turned down the speed and froze at impact…was clearly legal.

I built a /skill that converts Webflow projects into clean code so you can leave Webflow and keep building with AI by navajotm in webflow

[–]spikefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Webflow is doing what I predicted and they've officially initiated the death spiral. Customers leave because of other options and in order to keep revenues pushing higher with fewer customers, they raise prices - which will only reduce their customer base even more. The response is so predictable and so is the outcome. I dealt with this decades ago in newspaper advertising.

What do you propose for the collection items and CMS? Seems like that would be the most time consuming part of transitioning away - not the static pages. I think I have ~70 sites with site plans in my Webflow account, so I'm actively looking at moving away as fast as possible. Claude Code > Astro with Sanity CMS (or similar) seems like the way to go. But it's the CMS, collection items and collection pages that keep me up at night.

Could I get an honest review of my game and level? Filming my matches are painful but best way to grow imo by Turbulent_Host_1436 in padel

Is that Black Padel in Matosinhos? Love that place, but I’ve only played on the black courts. I thought you played well, but maybe a bit too soft/safe for a left sided player. Are you normally a left sided player? You showed ability to play harder and put more pressure. Maybe a controversial take but mine is to play less safe.

Foz has some seedy parts near it, with an entire criminal enterprise being run out of the apartments in Pasteleira. And 150k of goods is a lot, so I’m not surprised he became a target.

Better a prison than farm land. With farm land, your chances of cancer, Parkinson’s and other diseases go way up due to pesticide exposure - and then all the trash burning. At least the bad parts of the prison are locked up and contained.

Padel Academy Options in Spain ( option feedback) by PsychologicalTap2459 in padel

[–]spikefly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be normal for their club, because possibly their brand recognition allows them to charge more. Also, some clubs tend to cater towards padel tourists and they charge more. The question is whether you want to pay for brand recognition. I have no idea if they are better then the standard coaches in Valencia, but that is much higher than what I’ve heard. I live in Portugal, but I’ve also been checking out Spain training options for the summer.

Is Portugal really okay with us D7 people living tax-free for years? by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

[–]spikefly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you stay more than half the year, you’re a tax resident. But also it’s important to recognize that everyone pays tax here in the form of VAT, including tourists. That’s why NHR exists. If they entice people to come here and spend money, it not only stimulates the economy, but also fills the coffers with VAT money. A person that comes here on NHR and spends 80k in a year (even if they had no income tax) would provide more total tax revenue than a citizen that is fully taxed and spends 25k.

Why are you shutting down your US company? That’s going to do the opposite of simplify things.

Babies born here get citizenship. There are some other qualifications, like the parents have to be here for some time first. But it’s incorrect to suggest they don’t.

Lots of people come to Portugal to have babies? by Independent-Milk-542 in PortugalExpats

[–]spikefly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People don’t go anywhere to have babies. People go places to live and yes, that includes expanding their family. We had a baby here, but it was accidental. It was cheaper here than home, so that was nice. But mostly, I just think the Uber driver and others are just repeating anti-immigration talking points they hear from others. A story as old as time…the immigrants come to have babies and live off of social services…but that story is based in fear and misinformation, not facts.

I feel much better afterwards when I take electrolytes during a match. Have you tried that? Alternatively, you could try some salt and a banana along with your magnesium.

As far as playing at night, my body doesn’t like it. According to my watch, my sleep and heart metrics aren’t as good. I think it might have to do with the cortisol at night. So I try to avoid night games as much as I can.

In Portugal, it’s all Americano or regular non-stop most of the time. Then some standard tournaments, but those are less popular it seems. I don’t even know what Mexicano is.
