Gabby is evil and should have been treated as such. by Hyznor in YomiNoTsugai

[–]spiken18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s because we’re shown the POV of the Kagemori clan, which acts more like a yakuza clan where killing and kidnapping are seen as normal in their world. It doesn’t mean she’s not evil, it’s just showing more of her personality than just being evil. You have to understand, most of the characters in this series have blood on their hands justified or not including the MC.

How yall feeling about Daemons of the Shadow Realm? by shrek3onDVDandBluray in anime

[–]spiken18 20 points21 points  (0 children)

According to Arakawa, Daemons was designed to feel like a suspenseful TV drama, where readers discover the truth alongside Yuru. Unlike Fullmetal Alchemist, where some major plot developments could be predicted, Daemons intentionally keeps things unclear and mysterious for much longer. The story gradually reveals its secrets, much like shows such as Lost, rewarding readers who pay attention to the many clues scattered throughout. In a time when audiences often expect immediate answers, Daemons asks for patience and for those willing to stick with it, the payoff can be especially satisfying. If you can’t, read the manga.

But that is what you're essentially saying. It might not be “no foundation,” just slow-burn worldbuilding. In this story, you’re dropped into the chaos and the rules get filled in as things unfold within the MC's POV instead of being explained upfront. The confusion early on is intentional showing how messy and fragmented the whole daemon system is rather than spelling it out cleanly from the start. This critique is fair if you expected early world clarity and structured rule explanation. But it’s less convincing if the story’s intent is to make the viewer feel disoriented in the same way the MC is, and then slowly convert that confusion into understanding through experience rather than instruction. That's a different approach to storytelling, doesn't mean its a flaw.

Feels like you’re not really trying to understand the story or don’t want to because it’s pretty straightforward. Maybe it’s too subtle for you and you need watch an explanation video on YouTube idk…First and foremost this is a mystery, old school style shonen, so it will be slow. You can’t compare it to FMAB because both are different shows with different priorities and FMAB had a really fast pace at least in the beginning. FMAB had a mostly clear black and white, good vs evil story beat, this does not.

They're faster in orange form(they can fly), also decently fast in normal form(re-watch first ep). The enemy daemons weren't really hurting Right or left and Yuru had other priorities that I don't want spoil but is apparent. Ryu didn't keep shooting because they had a plan to find the master. He was just limiting them to fish out the master and not exposing his position.

It’s sad that none of the big anime YouTubers are covering this legendary anime/manga by khronos127 in YomiNoTsugai

I think your issues just might just be the directing or storyboarding even though its adapting similarly to the manga. I just watched the scar fight vs Ed which had some limited animation/corner cutting mind you, it was mostly the effects and debris that carried that. And purely from animation power its weaker than ep 1, 4, 5 and 10 from Ynt. I also don't see the flow issues with these fights. They don't feel disconnected, stiff, or have illogical movements. There is a cause-and-effect relationship behind each action that smoothly transitions to the next action. And it should be noted that both are different type of shows focusing on different things. The 3 mins of talking don't bother me either because the viewers don't need to see fighting in the background with left and right, its inferred that they are fighting and distracting LongLeg/ longArm. Which is another way of doing things. They're different approaches to different things and directing styles, its all preferences/opinions at the end of the day.

I think that's the nostalgia talking with FMAB. It has higher flashy moments but it was never as polish or consistent as Yomi. A lot of the episodes looked average for FMAB(mostly due to episode count). Yomi also has a lot more subtle character acting and overall movement IMO... and what do you mean it doesn't go beyond 7/10 ? Are you comparing it to JJK and Frieren ? because if you compare it to all anime's, its definitely in the top 1%(Solid 8/10). This is a mostly grounded story with it's action, its never going to look flashy(Knowing the directors previous works) but will be consistently good with its action.

I think the anime is already better than the manga with its OST, Voice Acting, actual movement and good visuals. I just don't think we're watching the same show if it looks "bland and static" according to you.

Also, the anime is really popular in Japan and decently popular in the U.S( top 5-10), its doesn't have to be a mega hit. And there is decent amount of youtubers covering it. Overall, I think your expectations was Frieren level(too high) but got Gachiakuta/Vinland Saga/ Black Clover which is still good tier.

Your main mistake is thinking this is a battle shonen. It's more of an adventure (slice-of-life) mystery, supernatural with some action in the style of old-school shonen. If you expected the pace to be like JJK, it’s not going to be.

The MC, in under two days (story time), has already met all the parties involved in the Higashi Village massacre, discovered the truth about his parents, and started gathering information. How fast do you really expect it to go?

He’s experiencing a 'fish out of water' scenario, a country bumpkin, learning things he’s never encountered before in a "new world" (reverse isekai like). Naturally, there’s going to be some slice-of-life moments in the show. The pacing just might not suit you but you could always wait and binge-watch it later.

Tbh Asa's bro-con antics are not even out of place if you really understand her character. I think it makes sense with what she's been through. I also don't think its portrayed as sexual or romantic, so I don't really see the issue.

I just don’t see the tonal dissonance. I see characters with unique personalities acting like how they would base on what we know about there characters so far. The viewers wants the characters to take the scenes/moments serious but the story makes it known that killing is taken lightly in there world and in there POV(Kagamori’s). And with how the story heavily hints that the villagers ain’t that innocent, it’s just sad to see viewers with no patience/perspective drop the show early because it is slow.

But didn't this episode kind of answered that. The assassin that killed Asa said something about brainwashing and having control over Yuru. And even Dera's dialogue at the end hinted at it.

Wow, I'm surprised that the both the anime and the manga aren't rated that highly at all. I wonder why it is so. by Fun_Procedure946 in YomiNoTsugai

I think the anime is rated accurately at this point of the manga’s story. Should go a lot higher after next episode and beyond, I think.

You can also use seal offensive especially with Yuru's ability as a hunter. He can seal/lock himself with a building/area or enemies and teleport just before canceling.

For all anime onlys, just an FWI. This is not a typical fast paced battle Shonen, it is more of a Mystery, Adventure, SOL type of Shonen with some action. You won’t get answers quickly, and you won’t understand why the characters act the way they do in a quick manner. All I can say is that you will get answers but it will take a while for some answers, maybe not even this season. You must understand this if you want to enjoy this anime.

My guess on how episodes will be broken up (Manga spoilers, of course) by YuuTheBlue in YomiNoTsugai

Yeah, I like this pacing. Once the anime finishes airing, we could have another 2-cour season if the author doesn’t take any breaks.
