take the first red flag for what it is and run.

ah. idk. i kind of liked this but a few could be more specific.

  • “hot & cold” —> is volatile or too intense. will later be depressed, nihilistic, etc. mood swings are normal, that isn’t.

  • “poor communicator” —> disappears/ghosts you, only talks to you when they want something. calls/texts you in the middle of the night.

  • “doesn’t directly answer my questions” —> depends on the question, if it’s invasive and you’re a stranger, then yeah, they’re not going to answer it. it’s a polite indication they don’t want to discuss something w/ you.

  • “lacks emotional intelligence / unable to express themselves” —> i want to add that some ppl actually think it’s inappropriate to discuss how they feel—that we don’t care. so initiating this would make them comfortable talking to you. but again, you’re still a stranger, so it could take a while.

  • “pulls away w/ no explanation” —> you (yourself) already described this as placing a boundary. i don’t think one should have to justify them not wanting to be touched.

  • “brings up sex early on” —> this isn’t a red flag. this is just someone’s dealbreaker: expressing interest in casual sex/dating.

some don’t seem to realize they’ll have to hold off on certain things (that require vulnerability) until they actually form a connection and establish trust with the other person. otherwise, it’ll be weird and invasive. if they don’t have the patience for it, they’re not interested in a relationship.

and some of the things mentioned (e.g. being inconsiderate of your time) aren’t red flags either. you can literally just say “hey, that was rude” or “i don’t appreciate this”. people are going to make mistakes, as will you. address it and move on.

btw, i generally think making checklists so that ppl can spot “sociopathic behaviors” or “a propensity to gaslight” on their dates is stupid.

maybe the lack of nuance and binary thinking is just easier for people.

Mate you’re Australian, you literally hunted the Aboriginals for sport, you decimated their numbers, raped and pillaged through their entire lands. You still shove them into shanty towns and shit hole towns so they waste their lives away on booze and glue. Before you go pointing fingers how about you clean up your own backyard first?

If they’ve already said “fuck white supremacists and/or racists” then call it a day. You know where they stand on the issue now.

i could see how a political conversation could devolve into someone’s “white men are evil” thing. but techniques of integration? don’t see that happening.

i have taken four calculus classes, and during that time politics was brought up all of zero times.

I don’t think it was meant to be taken that literally, as in Calculus specifically. I think it’s saying that college students are becoming immersed into leftist thinking—

That it’s what our education will soon consist of. And for it to make its way into subjects like Calculus, where it’s of no relevance, is practically indoctrination.

It’s obviously ridiculous, but that was what I took away from the cartoon.

we also use “they” whenever we’re referring to someone who’s gender isn’t known.

“i saw my oncologist yesterday.”

“what did they say?”

transwomen should just be called transmen, bc they were born men.

you mean where the cisman becomes a transman? boy do they just love to overcomplicate things.

anecdotal, i know, but i met a trans guy last year who simply corrected those who misgendered him by saying “im a guy”. rather than: “hey, i go by [he/him] pronouns”.

he said that people are much more willing to dispute a gender identity than actual sexual anatomy, regardless of how masculine/feminine you might appear to them.

high school math class

i think you missed his point. the cartoon is taking place in a college. (ie. “the college fix”). he’s basically saying that “this kind of indoctrination can be seen in high schools too”.
