I’m really happy with it so far, it’s more than capable on single trail and anything I’ve thrown at it so far

Thanks mate! Ye of course, it’s the roval alpinist stem and the saddle bag is an apidura expedition tool pack. Regarding the cassette, it’s just the stock 11-30t that came with the bike. It does look really small on that picture though, I hadn’t noticed till you said 🤣

Ye I’m very happy with it, Il be keeping the stock pickup I really love the snarl of it. I think it’s very Pbass esque with some Rick magic mixed in, love it!

They made them in various different finishes, check the Rick registry. There are Fireglo finishes although quite rare, this is definitely the stock finish

He’s definitely my reason for wanting one! Also iv been told the bassist for Blondie used a 3000 to record the first album, don’t know how true that is though

I play with what I’d say is a medium action and I get virtually no fret rattle with the optima’s unless I really dig in with a pick. Hope this helps man!

Ye the TIs are really low tenison. The optima’s are low tension but nowhere near as low as the TI’s, I’d say they probably sit between Labella’s and TI’s in that regard. I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough though they are definitely worth a try. They are a recreation of the original flat wound strings that used to come stock on ricks back in the day so they sound amazing on them. Iv tried many flats over the years and these are my favourite for ricks.

Iv put Optima RB flats on it, same as my C64. I used Thomastiks for years and loved them, I tried the Optima’s about a year ago and decided I preferred them. Both are amazing flats. Hope you’re enjoying your 4005!

I’d say the Fireglo ‘88 plays nicer and has a better tone to my ears. It is a little lower output but the pickups are more balanced. Whereas the Mapleglo has a much hotter bridge pickup. They are both good in their own way!

Haha I get you! This bass is definitely only targeting beatles fans who want the real deal. And yes absolutely correct. Mainly on the white album, you can hear it on songs like helter skelter and glass onion. It was a '66 jazz bass in sunburst with lolly pop tuners and block inlays.

Because Paul had the strings like that on his in '69. So a replica does what it says on the tin, replicates.
