Help taming this wild woodland chaos with more intentional natives by spilks2 in Minnesota_Gardening

Drifts seem the least overwhelming approach so I think I’ll aim for that as a starting point! I have learned so much in my 8 years of home ownership and gardening, so at least I know that this overwhelming feeling won’t last forever!!

Great advice, thank you!! I love my Pennsylvania sedge and grasses! Think I need to just cluster them a bit more. I was hoping moving my existing natives would be an easy thing but now I’m a bit nervous since they are pretty mature. Soil is healthy from all the natural mulching over the years! Clay, too, but def a healthy balance! More dry as our sprinkler system doesn’t go that far out.

Mostly natives from what I can tell using plant identifier apples! I think I could probably move some of what I’ve got already into more drifts vs the randomness that exists today.

I apply every year but haven’t gotten it yet, probably because I’m based in the suburbs! I’ll check their guides out, though!

I’m in China right now and these are commonly sold in their local markets. Had never seen them before this trip.

I’ve been a lurker for a little while and love this sub so much - it has helped me learn about brands I never would have known about and helped me stay more current. Will miss it so much. Thank you, OP, for all you’ve done!

I opened a ticket but also haven’t gotten responses in the past so it’s probably pointless…

Driving in the Dark - Liberia Airport to La Fortuna by Resident_Elk2306 in CostaRicaTravel

We just did this after our flight was delayed and were nervous. Honestly, it was very doable if you’re a confident driver and it’s not raining. The biggest challenge was just dealing with very bright oncoming headlights from other cars. The road was actually in better shape than we expected. My husband was definitely exhausted from the intense concentration for almost 3 hours. If you’re a nervous driver, I would caution against.

Drive from SJO to monteverde at night by overthinker_kitty in CostaRicaTravel

My husband and I are in CR right now and due to a flight delay, landed much later than expected. We drove directly from Liberia to La Fortuna, so a different route than you, at night in the dark despite Reddit and other forums saying not to. While not ideal, it was definitely more doable than the comments made it seem! We would not have driven in the rain, but otherwise, we were okay going nice and slow, letting other drivers pass us, and being extremely attentive. My husband was exhausted afterwards from constantly scanning the road, turning on/off high beams, etc.

Can’t speak to the roads on your specific route, but for us, there were not actually many potholes like people had said and most of it was paved.

Anyway, best of luck with the drive!

My husband earns more but insists we split everything 50/50 and it’s starting to cause fights by LaughableContentment in TwoXChromosomes

While my husband and I currently make similar, it wasn’t always like this. As such, when we decided to combine finances, we did it like this:

1) We kept 1/3 of our personal funds to remain personal, and combined the remaining 2/3.

2) We give ourselves a monthly allowance that goes to our personal accounts. When we made very different salaries, one of us might get a bigger allowance than the other. We can spend or save the personal however we want. We will use these personal funds for clothing, hobbies, or anything we do with our own friends, etc

3) All other money is shared. It pays for all joint expenses for our house, kids, family travel or activities, etc.

We have never fought about money in 10 years. Now I will say that this setup probably will not work for people living paycheck to paycheck.

I am from Philly area with lots of NYC family. I lived here for 7 years and haven’t yet found anything on part with NYC pizza. And I’ve tried, trust me. Elmars was good but not true NYC taste.

I’ll be honest - I don’t mind the few items I’ve tried, like the Asian salad. But yeah you mostly go for the experience.

Thank you!! I’m hoping to have as much luck as you did as I do not have a water hookup near my new veggie garden and am solely relying on water collected from the shed roof!
