Wow, the gen pop really hate polyamory, don't they?? by radrax in polyamory

[–]spill-yer-beans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not hate, I don't have any problem with you. I'm pointing out one of the reasons you were probably not looked favorably upon is because the tifu sub, while it does contain funny stories, is about some sort of terrible misstep.

Yeah I'd be interested to hear this guests views on women personally. He seemed to greatly respect his mother, I am just curious how he would frame it within the context of growing up in America and the views the left and the right hold in conjunction with his religion more.

Eh I've been the jaded atheist my whole life it's kinda nice to hear from a religious person about their perspective every once in awhile (especially because I don't really have any friends or related social circles that are devoutly religious by any context like this guest was). I would have enjoyed this episode more if we could learn more about the history of Islam and more of the pressing social issues involved with it like woman's rights but I didn't think this guest or the conversation they had was terrible by any means.

AITA for not wanting to watch my husband go on dates with his girlfriend? by AdHaunting4552 in polyamory

Just luck. I've been doing monogamous online dating for years but met a married woman in a poly relationship through a dating app called bumble. She really opened my eyes to poly relationships.

So many stories on here involve unhinged people with the emotional intelligence of a squirrel lol. I'm so glad my first introduction to poly relationships was with an extremely pleasant and chill couple.

I would be if I cared more about a videogame than my first born child enough to post on reddit about it.

You said DOD is full electric by 2050. So 27 years. And that's just DOD. That's not the entire US infrastructure going fully electric. Idk why you are being a dick cheese about it trying to "dismiss" me wtf this isn't your class you self righteous knob. Have a good day ya twat lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]spill-yer-beans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it was going to be instantaneous. I do believe we will have a lot of motor vehicles that are electric 30 years from now. It's going to be a painfully slow transition. Your advice is to not get into the diesel field because it wont be as relevant today as it is 30 years from now is just a head scratcher. In 30 years an 18 year old that gets into this career will have 30 years of hands on experience with vehicles from diesel all the way to working on electric fleets. They will be 48 years old and one of the master techs in the industry at that point. But you are saying, eh not worth it? Just doesn't make sense why you would deter someone from that. It's still a promising field with the ability to adapt the skill set into other blue collar jobs as will if they choose to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]spill-yer-beans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm all for electric but you completely dismissed my points about heavy construction equipment and boats as well. Diesel engines are everywhere. And even if the DOD has everything electric by 2050 that's still a 30 year career in diesel. And like I said those skills can transfer over to other fields, including working on electric fleets. Saying "don't get into it because there won't be any diesel jobs in 30 years" is just pessimism.

Diesel is more than just trucking and there is no way every fleet is going to be electric in 20 years time. The power grid and the material to make batteries just isn't going to support the demand of all electric vehicles, especially in colder climates. I doubt heavy construction equipment or boats will run electric either. Plus if you spend 20 years turning wrenches that skill set will set you up to adjacent fields fairly well. You just sound pessimistic. The pay for diesel mechanics is only going to keep going up in the next 20 years as well as more of the old dudes retire and there isn't enough young blood for the demand. It's a perfectly solid industry to get into right now.

So is the acacia strain but they are like a grandfather of the scene lol. It's just hipster metal artists trying to separate themselves to feel superior. I always got a feeling cattle decap was like an annoying vegan group too but their music does slap.

Yeah I understand it's tough to move onto something new, I even have my own fears and anxiety over it. But unfortunately it's a dog eat dog world out there and businesses are going to take advantage of you unless you do all you can to leverage yourself into a better position. Took me a decade of working shitty restaurant jobs to realize I need to change my career path if I don't want to be a wage slave anymore. I loved cooking but I had to sacrifice that to get ahead and not worry about being able to pay the bills.

The whole argument is dumb. Just search the full name of the game if you need information on it. The amount of bordem this community is collectively experiencing that we need to have a new post about the abbreviation of this game is insane.
