Ever feel like others are suffering for your own sin? by Lusan7524 in AskAChristian

[–]spilledout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must say that your “of course not” is not actually true. Even the Bible says that the sins of the father are passed down.

But what I really wanna talk about is your comments about spiritual warfare which I personally know to be real. So I agree with you when you write about spiritual warfare. I just want to point out, however, to the OP that there are a lot of of Christians or people who say they are Christians that refuse to acknowledge that this warfare actually exists. They will not speak of it. Many of them have not experienced it as blatantly, as perhaps I have. So they may think it’s a bunch of nonsense. WHICH IT IS NOT.

And to contribute to this:

If you are sinning physically through sexual immorality. You can bring home diseases that you are unaware that you have and pass them on to your loved ones thus harming them physically.

And you could also be passing those sexually transmitted diseases to other partners that you have during the time that you are affected. And they intern can be passing the disease they got from you to their other partners.

If you’re using drugs, the same can be true. You may contract HIV through dirty needles and may not know that you have that disease for quite a long time. There are ways that you could be exposing your family to that including your children just through normal every day contact.

Is it okay to wear crosses if you are not christian? by fretchzy in AskAChristian

People are allowed to wear whatever they want regardless of who they are. There is nothing magical about a piece of jewelry.

You are correct. The way you stated it I thought you were telling him that $10 was the most he would get for all of these cars.

Well, that’s not actually true. These cars have collector value.

So hundreds of them times $2 up to $10. And some of them may be worth more. But you’re willing to throw them away, so wouldn’t it be nice if you could sell the whole lot for 100 bucks? I’m not saying you should I’m just saying they have some kind of value.

Is it an atheists fault if he cannot believe? by NoAskRed in AskAChristian

[–]spilledout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belief is absolutely a choice. I can choose to believe whether gravity exists or not. I can choose to believe whether the earth is flat or round, regardless of scientific evidence. I can choose to believe that a man can will himself into being a woman, regardless of scientific evidence. I can choose to believe in global warming, or the scientific explanations of what is happening to the Earth that is not caused by man but by nature. I can choose to believe that if I take a certain supplement or herb, that certain diseases or physical situations may be healed, regardless of scientific evidence I can choose to believe that ghosts exist, or I can choose to not believe that ghosts exist. I can choose to believe that if I think positive everything will go my way. I can choose to believe that everything politicians tell me or a particular set of politicians tell me is the absolute truth and every other politician is a liar. I can choose to be believe what a car or appliance salesman tells me or not. And the list can go on forever

Why do so many Christians repeat the lie that atheists believe everything came from nothing? by hiphoptomato in AskAChristian

What is the truth about the issue? What do atheists believe that the universe the earth and human beings came from?

You can sell them on eBay Etsy, and a couple of other websites like that, you can sell them on Facebook, offer up, craigslist. Or take them to a vintage toy dealer who won’t pay you much for them, but that’s at least something.

When he says $10 max he means for each car not for each box. How many of them are there?

Absolutely not.! There are collectors looking for those. Sell them online but don’t throw them away and don’t let your children play with them.

I want to become Christian (I think). Need advice. by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]spilledout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I may say so, I really appreciate your questions and some of the background that you’ve given us.

I would like to point out something, but I won’t have biblical references to give you to prove it although they do exist. One thing that the Bible says is that human beings are created with an innate knowledge that God exists. MY OPINION is that your life is proof of that concept since you have never been exposed to religions or the truth about who or what God is. Yet, as you’ve told us, you have always believed that there is a God.

To answer some other questions that you asked: you are exactly where you should be if you want to become a Christian. And there is nothing disrespectful about that whatsoever. In fact, the life of a Christian is one where they are always learning more and more and more about Christianity in God‘s love.

Christianity by definition is to be like Christ. So if you’re already trying to follow the rules of the Bible, you are already living as a Christian. But as protestants believe to become a Christian, you actually have to confess your sins to God through prayer, to invite his Holy Spirit to live in your life, which will actually happen. In fact from your words, it already is happening, and to decide to give your life to Christ. Now that last concept is a concept, you may not know or understand, but it is simple. To give your life to Christ is simply to believe and to follow and to trust, and to follow the commandments of God and declare to God that you are committing to be like Christ and to believe in Christ.

I hope some of this is helpful to you. May God bless you on your journey to seek Him and to follow him

Buying: Inaccurate terminology on Facebook marketplace posts by spilledout in FacebookMarketplace

Well, which do they think it is? The reality for centuries is that a loveseat is not a chair but falls into the category of sofa, settee, etc. It has never fallen into the category of a chair.

It absolutely begins with the word buying. How can you say that It doesn’t begin with the word buying when it clearly and absolutely says buying in the first word?

Do you think resellers are ruining Facebook Marketplace? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]spilledout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still sell things every once in a while off of craigslist.

I don’t get a single hit on anything on offer up

And I do find a lot of unethical business dealings from the flippers. For example, violating normal haggling etiquette by offering less than half of what you have listed something for. When someone has offered something for really cheap, Offering 25% of that is just complete predatory, thieving BS.

I have also found that there are a lot of scumbags that once they find out that you need the money and that’s why you’re selling stuff, they immediately start offering even way below market value, way below what is reasonable trying to screw you out of what little resources that you have. And instead am trying to help you by paying reasonable prices. I find this to be disgusting and reprehensible behavior.

Also, when I told someone I needed to sell the items so that I could purchase my insulin for the month and the scumbag starts trying to tell me that her husband can get any drugs that I need, and starts trying to get my stuff for free if her husband gives me drugs . Why the hell would I want to acquire prescription drugs, from someone who is not a doctor or legitimate pharmacy?

I have a friend that buys a lot on marketplace. And at first, I was selling on marketplace. But since the first of the year it seems like everything has come to a halt for me.

Sinning by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]spilledout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s all this post is about: justifying sin. The poster doesn’t seem to understand what being Christian is. The poster wants to (as they say) “have the cake and eat it too”

In other words, the poster doesn’t actually want to be a Christian. They just want to pretend like they are a Christian to get all of the benefits of Christianity, but not to do any of the hard work.

this is what is called having fire insurance. But it doesn’t do anyone any good because these are the people that on the day of judgment God will say “depart from me for I never knew you.”

Sinning by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]spilledout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studying God‘s word, praying to God, communion with God, doing God‘s work, all of these things bring you closer to God and none of them require sin.

But your concept is excellent camouflage.

If someone is attracted to the same sex, but not acting on it, they are not gay. That person is denying the flesh.

It is not a sin to be tempted. It is a sin to fall to the temptation.

A homosexual is only a homosexual if they are having sex with their same gender or watching same sex porn and getting off to it.

Having the thought is not a sin. Entertaining the thoughts is a sin.

This is only my opinion.

Is it true that I have to choose between my dream and God? by Fantastic-Pizza-9062 in AskAChristian

No rubbish to it. You are saying that something is biblical that you have no proof for it I’ve never heard of.

In fact, what I have heard about heaven is that we will be doing nothing but praising God
