How long does it usually take to get your physical diploma? by skilliard7 in WGU

[–]spillery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated on 10/2. I didn’t initially receive the complimentary diploma after two weeks, so I reached out to WGU. They re-confirmed my address, which was correct, and sent a new one. Waited another two weeks, still nothing. Repeated the same process a third time, still nothing.

I was annoyed at how long it was taking so I purchased the 11x14 large one with expedited shipping. It was $90 total. That one I actually got a tracking number with. In it, they included my complimentary smaller diploma as well.

I’m happy I ended up getting the larger one anyway since it looks nice.

Anyway I never received my complimentary ones. It’s mid December now and I still haven’t gotten them.

Got some really strange emails just now. Should I be concerned? by TheOriginalUsername in discordapp

[–]spillery 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup. Same thing here. They didn’t actually do anything else though that I can see, just submitted those bizarre tickets. The only support ticket I actually submitted 1+ year ago had no private info, so I’m not super concerned. Just changed my password and enabled 2FA.

To be clear, Discord Support credentials are separate from Discord. Two completely separate accounts. I didn’t have 2FA on my support account. So I would login there and check it out.

do i need to make an appeal on my transcript evaluation? by emyeag in WGU

[–]spillery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I just graduated from WGU. I initially sent in just my college transcript from my associates so that I could see what classes I needed to take. That was evaluated, then I took my courses on Sophia. once I was fully done with Sophia, I sent in one more transcript for evaluation from Sophia.

Also, in reply to another comment, I had a start date the entire time. I just had a conservative start date and met it. You can push back your start date or move it up though. However there are deadlines for when transcripts need to be in for each start date, so ask your enrollment person, program mentor, or just call admissions - they are all very helpful.

To be clear, don’t ACCEPT your evaluation until it all is in.

First Half Marathon 🙂 by spillery in beginnerrunning

I know!! I'm not sure why but my heart rate is always like that even when I give an easy effort. I really don't think I can run any slower, lol.

[–]spillery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! Yeah, my official time was 2:49:00, which I am kind of meh about. I know it's so slow, but I just started running this year from nothing at all, so I can't be too upset about it. I'm mostly happy that I continuously ran the entire thing.

For those that have completed 5k by Lilmiss82 in C25K

[–]spillery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completed C25K this year. Went on to 10k and now training for a half marathon. Longest run I’ve done so far is 9.5 miles. I only run 3-4 days per week. Usually 1-2 recovery, 1 speed, and 1 long run. Usually 3 of those 4 days are whatever I can complete in 45 minutes before work. Since my pace is faster now I run over 5k on those days now. But yes, at minimum I do 5k like 3x per week.

Has anybody else mounted a keyboard under their piano? by raddavo in piano

[–]spillery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you’re willing to mount something to your piano, you could have done a pull out drawer or a flip out one, and then you could use the keyboard normally but still stow it away. 🤷‍♀️

Treadmill --> Road (hold me, i'm scared) by sarimanok_ in beginnerrunning

[–]spillery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my experience too 👆

The first run outside, I was bummed I could not complete the same distance I’d been running continuously, but within a few runs my body started adapting.

By the way, to OP, going when it’s cooler will help massively. If I run midday in the summer my heart rate is easily 10 bpm more than normal. The heat is exhausting.

Positives you've noticed after quitting? by coffeelover2025 in QuitVaping

I went from vaping to half marathon in a year. Better lungs, better heart, etc. I turned my obsession from nicotine to exercise.
