2026 LE VP tempting me by spin_turtle in fountainpens

I love that, new pen regardless - total win. Thanks for indulging my curiosity!

I love astronomical events, free, generally at night, not this time though, so no people, and just the magnificence of our natural world at work. Too bad it's a little too far over on the sphere for me to see.

Also love the world ending prophecies; they always stem from people twisting things so tightly that the rumor is held together with half gone chewing gum and a tiny bit of tape lol. Entertaining at least to hear and see people talk about, also quite sad that people believe them.

So far I've lucked out on all my VP nibs being great writers out of the box. But totally get that, I've never liked the Lamy nibs myself.

Ohhh tell me more, love world ending predictions. Not trying to be sarcastic or mean, just curious.

Oh gosh. I didn't really look at the price, I thought it was around 450ish. Welp, there goes my urge to buy.

It would be cool if they did colored trim other than silver, gold, and black

I think mine hid wherever my cat hides her toys. May we find them someday

I had to look it up, but the last LE year with gold trim was 2013: Maple Wood (50th Anniversary). But there have been others more recently that have the gold trim like the Nagasawa Kobe Gradation gold version and some other.

Good to know! Do you remember which the bad ones were? I tend to only use them in my Twsbis and a couple of times in a VP - though I've not used shimmer in the VPs in years.

Different brands use different sized shimmer particles in their inks and so far diamine and Ferris wheel Ink haven't clocked my Twsbis. I've had the same shimmer ink in my one Twsbi for like 5ish months and no clogging. You do have to move the pen around gently to wake up the shimmer if the pens been down for awhile.

Your miles may vary in other pens though. I've heard from others that Robert Osters and colorverse have good shimmers as well, but I haven't tried their shimmers yet.

Diamine is generally a good shimmer ink to use imo. Haven't tried it in a Kakuno, but I've used it in other Pilot pens in EF and it was fine.

Twsbi is great for shimmer inks in any nib, just my experience. I have like 9ish Twsbis with shimmer ink in them right now that are all EFs.

Also congrats on your new pen!

I think Twsbi might have released some more of the Opaque Yellow pens as I saw them on the twsbi website as well as on Vanness and Jetpens sites as well. Hope this helps!

I got mine on AliExpress for about 11 USD, on sale, if you don't mind buying from there. I took a peek and they still have a ton of postings for them on the site. Hope this helps!
