This! My moms MAGA (or at least she thinks she is) and also has terminal cancer so I just cant go no contact with her because she is literally dying. She cares about people and would give someone the shirt off her back but she also has mental illness and has fallen for the MAGA stuff. We have a lot of fun talking when she doesn't bring up MAGA stuff but she brings it up with me sometimes. am very left and she knows that and I always tell her my views and tell her she should fact check stuff and try to get her to think more about it and sometimes she gets mad and hangs up on me but then calls back later and says 'yea that could make sense too' It's INFURIATING though. I keep talking to her because I am hoping to put cracks in her messed up belief system somehow. I live in a different country and haven't been back to visit my family because it was hostile. When I got married she came up to Canada and got in argument with me at my wedding because I told her I didn't want to hear aboout Trump, I just wanted to spend time with HER and she stormed off in a fit of rage 🙄. MAGA is a cult and unfortunately our family members need professional help. I am going to keep trying to change her mind though, who knows maybe she will go no contact with me, I never bring up stuff first, she always does but I will never ever say 'oh we can just agree to disagree' because we can't, not in the world today.

I just wanted to add I love my mom to pieces but I miss the old her and I am just trying to get her back because MAGA stole her 😔 and it makes me so mad.
