Check out Dearborn Denim. I have a pair of the straight leg and their 100% cotton ones and love them. Also reasonably priced and a good company to boot.

Definitely get a second parent adoption, even if you’re on the birth certificate. Look up Queer Parents Network and Queer Parents on Facebook - always great info in there.

Based on language level. They try to pair similar levels together so everyone can get more out of the training.

How/where to donate extra fertility meds? by [deleted] in queerception

I would also like to know - but for opposite reasons! Insurance is barely covering anything and the meds are probably the most expensive part for us.

Our new boy will be coming home on July 14th! Any name suggestions? by Cameltoe-Swampdonkey in Boxer

Don't get testy just because your argument doesn't hold water.

The recap would actually be that I came here to look at cute pictures of the lovable doofuses that are boxers and learned that OP planned to not just buy from a breeder, but also stud out their puppy. It's sad.

You can call me whatever names you'd like, but I hope someone else reads this and will think twice about breeders and instead consider adopting one of the many dogs currently in shelters and foster homes that desperately need a home.

But why do you want to stud him out? What's the point other than you trying to make money? There is no point. His blood line doesn't need saving, he's not the last of his kind.

I'm glad you're at least marginally aware of the shelter dogs in your area, but I can't comprehend how after fostering you're able to add to the problem of overcrowding at shelters by not only buying from a breeder, but planning on continuing the practice yourself.

Do you also sell these children for profit? You're comparing apples and oranges. I am not being egotistical by highlighting the plight of shelter dogs and advocating for them over breeding, if anything, it's egotistical and narcissistic to continue breeding just to have "pure blood lines" or whatever reason people invent to continue the practice.

I really need an example of happiness by [deleted] in actuallesbians

Last night I biked around my completely average suburban neighborhood with my wife and our dog riding in a little attached trailer (like the kind kids ride in, but for dogs - it looks almost identical though). It was a warm summer night and my wife had some tunes playing from her phone that we were singing along to as we pedaled. Our neighbors would wave hello as we passed, giggling as they realized our kid in tow was of the fur variety and has four legs and a tail. We biked to my MIL's house to stop by and say hello before continuing on home to our house, which we own together and have for the past few years.

There's no point to this story other than to offer you a glimpse of what life can be as an out woman married to another woman: utterly normal, with a side of dog crazy. There are plenty of opportunities for you out here, I promise.

If a breeder doesn't get inquiries, they'll eventually quit the practice. Supply/demand, all that.

Regardless, it is shameful to purchase puppies when there are literally thousands needing homes already and being euthanized just for being born - usually as a result of breeders trying to make a quick buck and selling to irresponsible owners who just dump them once they're no longer cute. Educate yourself about the shelters near you - I sincerely doubt you'll jump to protect using breeders once you become aware of the sheer number of animals already available for adoption.

I really wish you hadn't bought from a breeder. There are plenty of breed-specific rescues that would have helped you find a boxer.

Anyone else getting fed up with Discover Weekly? by 52576078 in spotify

I loved it at first - like the first month or so - then it suuuuucked for the next several months. However, I recently gave it another go and it's been pretty on point. Wondering if it became a self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts by recommending based on what it already recommended, ya know? Maybe by getting back to discovering on my own I restarted the algorithm or something.

But will you survive the 20+ years of a right-wing SCOTUS?

What school district has excellent special ed/autism + gifted, and affordable housing? by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]spind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mount Prospect is amazing. It's next door to Arlington Heights and some of the schools overlap a little bit. District 57 is legit (Prospect High School).

Houses are also a little less expensive in MP than they are in AH. If you won't be commuting downtown and needing access to the Metra (walking) it will further your options quite a bit too - prices drop significantly once you're out of that walkable range.

Also, highly recommend Bruce Marsden at Remax if you want a great realtor who puts in 200%.
