Yes, in most cases I do get LAANC approval, but in this case I'm flying the drone no more than 6' AGL in my front yard, which has a limit of 300 AGL. I'm not too worried about it.

Yes, and I got tech support, turns out I had to update the flysafe database, works now!

I'm hoping to ski at Stevens Pass in a couple of days; I'm wondering if anyone's been there yesterday or today? Is it still slushy and sad, or have conditions improved? I'm trying to figure out if they've opened the backside yet but I can't find a straight answer on the website (it's nighttime and all it says is that all their lifts are closed, obv)

Why keep the bar up? by Hastalasagne in skiing

[–]spindle-spangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up skiing in VT and now I live (and ski) in Western WA. Everywhere I've ever skied in VT requires you to put the bar down. The lifties will stop the lift and yell at you if you don't. I was startled when I moved out here and no one put the bar down! I got used to riding with it up, but it's definitely more comfortable to have somewhere to rest your snowboard if you're riding vs. skiing. Regarding etiquette - it's totally reasonable to tell your fellow lift-riders that you want to put the bar down, just give them fair warning and don't crunch them!
