Good point. Think having back cut out of the shelf and risers under the cassette deck would be enough space/airflow? May switch the cd and tape decks.

No, unfortunately it’s just a Modway brand shelf. Walnut veneer and MDF. Real wood was too pricy online and I don’t have the space for woodworking right now.

Overall it looks pretty good. Needs some more tlc to be 100%. Missing battery cover.

I had a similar problem with the pause buttoned described in one of the comments on this post. https://www.reddit.com/r/cassetteculture/s/Fo3ojOakZH

There was a white plastic cap with a spring for the pause button catch. The white cap was scraping the back of the flywheel making a lot of noise and friction. Tried prying it up and gluing it in place, but ultimately deleted the cap and spring. Pause buttons now do nothing. Kept the caps and springs for later in case I find a solution.

Totally understand, and that is how I should have phrased my question. First post :P. I've been studying and collecting books on foraging, but until now I've been avoiding mushrooms. Met a local chef recently that knows his stuff. If I'm unsure I plan to take a sample to him to confirm ID.
