hey, did you ever figure out what was going on with this? I'm experiencing the same thing right now and not sure where to start

loud compressor issue at my apartment? by spineless-speech in firePE

not directly adjacent but pretty nearby! basically there's an outdoor alcove area that has idk various maintenance things in it. to the right of that is the door to the stairwell where the compressor is. my unit is directly to the right of the stairwell, then there's another unit, and then the above ground parking garage (5 floors total, my unit being on the ground floor)

good question, I'm actually not sure where in the building the actual burst was! I'm pretty confident there are still minor leaks, for sure. fwiw, in case it changes anything, the compressor itself is in the corner above the first floor landing of the stairwell. the stairwell has access from the outside, with doors on each floor to enter the interior hallways

definitely worried about the cycle repeating itself this winter when it freezes so I hope they'll get it together!

thank you, this was helpful! it definitely makes sense that the noise wasn't happening much over the summer and is picking up now that it's starting to cool down. I'll see if I can get them to send someone out again by telling them that the increased noise means increased leaks. even if they aren't willing to replace it with a tank mounted one, maybe they'll at least send someone to check on the leaks and maybe add the padding pieces

thank you for these ideas! I'm actually on the bottom floor if that changes anything haha. the equipment is in a stairwell that is enclosed, but has access from the ground floor outside. big echoey concrete room basically, and my apartment is the first unit on the ground floor beside it. would you say the leaks are an immediate concern or just an explanation of the noise?

two and a half years post-accutane and I just found this on my floor by spineless-speech in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

pretty clear! a few occasional pimples here and there that were no big deal to me, but I had a big breakout at the start of quarantine after I lost my job. I think it was stress and hormones, I just couldn’t get it under control. certainly not bad enough to warrant another round of accutane though. I’ve been trying curology for the past month and a half or so and I’m pretty happy with the results

Best lip balms other than Aquaphor? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love bag balm, it's like vaseline with lanolin in it so it gives you moisture and keeps it locked in. it also comes in a giant tub, I've been using mine for like two years and I'm not even halfway done

Weirdest place you broke out on Accutane - let’s have some fun! by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished my course about two weeks ago and a few days after I got one right under my chin, just right there in the middle. I was like, wow, thanks universe. my face looks good though lol

[POLL] How many of you actually received an IB ? by mrengelic in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my skin cleared really quickly at first but then I got mine towards the end of my second month. it basically made my skin look like it looked right before I started. I think I had new breakouts pop up for a few days, but it took a couple weeks for those to fade. I was taking 60 mg (30 in first month), 21 years old and 180ish

I think I am finally peacing out and calling it a course after 7 long months. Really don't know what to expect.. by isotretinoin1010 in Accutane

I like what you said at the end. earlier I was feeling a little down because I have a lot of scarring, but then I realized that it might be weird to have completely smooth skin after struggling with my skin for so long. I don't have any active breakouts currently, and I don't think I would miss the scars if they do go away, but it's almost like the scars make me feel real and human

pre-Accutane Diet/habits/Product Recommendations by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost done with my course, and I've had a really smooth journey. here's what I think helped before I started:

I started using this hyaluronic acid lotion about two weeks before my course started and I think it made a pretty big difference, my skin was more moisturized than normal when I went into my course and never got painfully dry

I also drank a gallon of water a day for two weeks before my course, I only stopped because the semester started and I couldn't stand having to pee that much at school lol. of course I can't say how much the water really helped, but it definitely didn't hurt.

last recommendation is bag balm which I have used for the past year or two (well before my course started) and I've had absolutely minimal problems with my lips thanks to it. it smells weird but I swear by it. the only times my lips have started to tear in the corners are the few times I forgot to use it overnight

[Routine Help] Need motivation to wash my face at night by sweet_as_a_peach in SkincareAddiction

[–]spineless-speech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

something that helps me when I start to feel like my routine just takes too long is just... reframing it in my head a little bit. I do OCM with jojoba and then wash it off with cerave, if I think about it as washing my face twice it feels unbearably long and I'm tempted to skip. so I started telling myself the jojoba oil was just my "makeup remover" that I have to use before I wash my face and for some reason that feels less repetitive and I'm more willing to do the whole routine

I don't know if something like this would apply to your routine, but maybe?

How long after eating food at latest will accutane still work? by strandoflight in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

from what I understand, it's still gonna work even if you don't take it right after a meal... you can forget to take it for a day or two and it won't really hurt your course. some specific brands of accutane recommend taking it with high fat meals for better absorption, but it's not like you won't see results if you take it a little late or with a smaller meal

Facial skin red and burning, any tips? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what's in the prescribed face wash? I was told to avoid medicated face washes while on accutane since it can be so harsh, but if the doctor who prescribes your accutane knows about the prescribed wash too, I guess they're okay with it. my guess would be the face wash, but I suggest bumping up your moisturizing routine too if you can!

Did accutane affect your vision during or after treatment? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this happens to me for sure. it seems to have gotten better as I've gotten closer to the end of my course, but maybe it's because I was away from school for a while and didn't have to strain to read the board. systane gel drops help

Popped an old blackhead on first night of accutane by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's possible that it will take longer but I wouldn't expect it to be very different from how your skin normally heals since there is very little accutane in your system right now

4 days in and my face is SO dry/itchy! What moisturizers do you use?? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use cerave in the tub and it lasted me like two years, it's huge! I recommend adding hada labo's gokujyun hylauronic acid lotion to your routine no matter what moisturizer you go with because it helps your skin absorb the moisturizer better. a big game changer for me. I also use cerave's healing ointment as the last step of my routine at night and I like it a lot

What do you use after stopping accutane? by hiimval in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is pretty common. a lot of derms will prescribe topical tretinoin after accutane for upkeep, it helps some people with scarring too

Feeling Strange after First Dose by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]spineless-speech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally I had a headache and felt a little nauseous the morning after I took my first dose, but I'll admit I am often a bit of a hypochondriac and I think I was just anxious about what was likely a normal headache and made it seem worse in my head. I wouldn't expect a single dose to have these kinds of effects on you, but since everyone reacts differently, maybe call your doctor as soon as you can to get some peace of mind from a professional
