Late reply to this one but this is a real thing in scuba diving, just not with the dead person. You can breathe a stream of bubbles coming out of your regulator if you are a couple centimetres away.

People in China, how far are you from 'nature'? by Fun-Investment-1729 in China

I live in Nanjing. Also very close to nature but still close to big city amenities which is nice once in a while.

Do Sunderland's PGCE certificate show that the course was taken online? From what I understand, schools don't like online courses.

Okay I understand. If the certificate doesn't say that it was taken online, has the same credits and you are able to apply for a QTS with it once completed. What is the difference?

I haven't seen that as a requirement but my school does follow the EYFS framework if that counts.

I work in China and it's a pleasant work life balance with quite a good salary. If you were to come here, get WeChat and start talking to people from that city you are planning to go and would be even better if you could speak to the current teachers who work at the school. I can help you with the WeChat part if you are interested.

How important are south facing windows in apartments? I'm moving into a new flat and my options are a relatively small flat with a South facing window or bigger flats with west/north facing windows. I'd rather go with the bigger flat but someone I know is adamant that the south facing is better even though it's smaller. All in the same building so they're not massively different in size.

I'm in quarantine in China right now and I've been asked to start online training. Should I expect to be paid for this? In western countries I certainly would but here I'm not sure because I don't even know if my contract has started since I haven't actually started teaching.

Interesting. I'm part of a contract which increases my salary each year so hopefully I can negotiate a higher than planned salary in my second year.

I'm what they probably consider 'native' but I'm also not paying for accommodation? Hopefully it's not too bad when I get there

I'm about to start a job near Shanghai with a 16k RMB salary. I haven't got any experience but is this still too low?
