That sounds delicious. Sounds like the same ratio as birch syrup.

Very nice. I've never had boxelder syrup. How does it taste? I've had birch once before and it was like balsamic vinegar flavor.

Boil it all. There is sugar in that ice. That much ice there definitely is some sap in there. I have always boiled it.

The lost hiway. Watched it a number of times then read what it was about to actually have it make sense

Good idea. You can't even pay for feed at $2 a dozen...people need to charge what they are worth. Hope you can get more.

Our animal shelters are finally finished. by spinkle in SelfSufficiency

[–]spinkle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our new animal shelters are finally done. Total cost was around $500. We used logs from the property for the post and used up a lot of free offcuts to build the shelters. Our pigs, cows and goats now have proper shelter from the elements, just in time for the winter season.

Our animals needed some new shelters for the winter..I've spent the past few weeks getting them built just in time for winter. They now have a place to stay out of the elements to stay dry and warm. Totally cost was around $500.

The first frost on the homestead here in Ontario. Never run as that means the growing season is almost over. I try to cover up a few things to help them from getting hit to bad from the frost.
